Chapter 36
Melody came hurrying in the door. "Harriet."
"Here, Luna."
"I am so sorry I am late; class ran over. Are the twins ready?"
"They are all dress and bag packed. I straightened your music in the music room. You have been practicing so much more lately."
"I want to be at my best for Mr. Hughs tomorrow. We better get to the meeting I hate when we are late."
"You aren't that late, if you didn't take the pups, it would be so much easier on you."
"I would never disappoint the pack or the twins." Harriet knew it was a losing battle and dropped the subject.
The next day was about the same with Melody running crazy. She had just put her school bag down, when there was a knock at the door. Harriet answered it for her. "Luna Melody, Mr. Hughs is here."
"Hello, Mr. Hughs. Let me take you to the music room."
"Good. We need to start. The lesson will take three hours today."
Mr. Hughs was strict, constantly correcting her. At times his voice was so harsh it came out as a yell. "I have told you to sit with your shoulders back, posture is of the utmost importance. You must learn to show your strength. When you enter the stage, stand tall. Show them they are not over you, you are in control of them, their feelings. Show them the power that comes from the music, the music you are playing. Again, stronger this time." When the lesson is over Melody is wiped out. "You must practice and hold yourself correctly for two hours a day. I will see you in two days."
Anthony had returned home and heard the way Mr. Hughs talked to her. When he saw how tired she was he was concerned this was going to take too much out of her. "Is this worth it Melody? I don't like the way he talks to you, if he was a werewolf, he would be dead right now."
"He means well, it is just his way of talking. What I am learning is so important; it will let me do what I have always promised my mother. Music is the one thing that keeps her memories in my heart."
"I understand wanting to do this for her. The problem is you have medical school, Luna duties, the projects that you are working on for the pack and at our house with the kids. You are spreading yourself out too thin."
"I have a schedule, four days a week at school for the rest of the summer. This fall I will work at the hospital four days a week. On Tuesdays and Fridays, I start at seven and finish at two. On Mondays and Thursdays, they start at eight and finish at one. That leaves Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday free to be with you and the pack. I can also spend evenings with everyone, when I don't have too much homework." She stopped talking and tilted her head, "What new project at home?"
"The one that you take care of your mate in bed."
"What?"
Anthony shook his head. "I was teasing, you wanted to build a play area for the twins, or did you forget all those boxes in the garage. The ones keeping the car in the driveway. I might have been teasing about some private time but let's be honest we don't get too much alone time."
A shit ass grin went across Melody's face. "The twins are sleeping; do you want some alone time now?" Melody winked at him in a seductive manner, then went toward the stairs swaying her hips. Anthony growled went straight up to her, threw her over his shoulder on his way to their room.
The next three months were beyond busy. With help from both grandpas and the nanny life has gotten a rhythm that her and Anthony have come to enjoy. Mr. Hughs has gotten easier on her now that she got it through her thick skull what he wanted. Medical school has her content with her new skills, she even helped a pack member without her gift.
