"I have a note for you, you have a visitor in the lobby." Anthony opens the door and takes the note.

"Who is it?"

"The note says someone that knows you and cares about you."

"Get mom to watch the pups and we can go down together."

Anthony comes back with mom. I am feeling uneasy, like something bad is going to happen. As we go downstairs Harmony starts to pace making me feel even more on edge. There is a man standing at the counter, his back is to us, "Can I help you?"

When he turns around, it's a face that I know, one I did not want to see again. "Hello, sweetheart."

For a few seconds I freeze. "Hello, beta Michael." I am unable to move my feet, they are stuck in place not sure what to do.

Anthony mind links Charley. "Get down here with dad and the rest of them her father is here, and I don't know if he is alone.

"I have been looking for you for two and a half years."

"Why? You never wanted me before."

"I deserve that, I have not been fair to you." Frozen in place, fear is in my eyes. Anthony wraps his arm around me trying to give me his strength and comfort. Charley and the rest come down to circle us in, including Frank. Michael sees six guards along with Charley, Cameron, and Frank, he decides to back up. He is sizing up the situation, then looks at me. "I just want to talk to you. There is no need for all this."

"Who else is with you?" Anthony asks.

"I came alone. I felt that I had to find her and make sure she was safe."

"You can see I am fine, so you can leave."

"Would you please just let me talk to you? Alone."

"That is not going to happen." Anthony steps up to him.

"Then can we talk where not everyone is watching and listening to what I have to say?"

Anthony points." There is a restaurant it is empty." Cameron and Frank along with the guards waited for us a few tables away. Charley wasn't going to wait with them, he stood next to the table with us.

Michael is perturbed having him there. "Can't he wait with the rest of them?"

"No, I want Papa Charley to come with us." Michael looked at the man I called Papa Charley then at me. Not knowing how he felt about the name. "You wanted to talk, talk." I am cold and uncaring as I speak to him.

"There is a lot that I have done wrong, I cannot change that. When you left that day and I did not know where you were, I just about lost my mind. It took you leaving for me to see you for who you are."

"I have tried for years to tell you that I am not my mother, but you would not listen. I don't believe you are here just to make sure I am alright."

"I have only seen you for your mother, that was wrong. With what I have done and the pack has done, I know you will never want to come back, not with the life you have now." He pauses. "Please know how sorry I am and give me a chance to prove it."

"How do you plan to do that?" Anthony sounds overly protective.

"I would like you to come home to your mate and let your brother and him also make it up to you."

Anthony is growling deep in his chest looking at him like he is ready to tear him apart. "She is MY MATE! My goddess given mate. I wasn't stupid enough to reject her like someone else was."
