Chapter 73

Branden knocked on their door. "We will be right there. Drew said then turned to the father and son team. "We can't have the same thing tonight we had this afternoon. Get your acts together or we will not get what we want."

Branden greeted Alpha, gentlemen. I have come to take you to dinner." Alpha Drew nodded and followed him to Anthony's.

Anthony saw them and was polite but not friendly. "Just in time come dinner is done."

No one was eating and laughing like usual. Drew seeing this knew he had to lighten the mood. As the meal came to an end Drew stood up, "There is a lot of emotions in this room from the past, we cannot change the past. What we can do is make amends for it and start over. If we all hold these negative emotions, we will not fix it or move on from it. We will try to make things the way they should of always been if you give us a chance."

"Some things are harder than others to get past. That being said it does not mean we can't attempt it." Anthony replied.

"I would like to move on and repair whatever we can and get back to our friendship, Anthony. I am not saying it can happen in a day, it would be nice to at least take a step towards it."

Michael added to what Drew was saying. "I threw away my family and it has been the biggest mistake I have ever made. All I want is to rebuild our relationship."

Drew looked at Melody then back at Anthony. "I was the one that made the mistake with the rejection, if you were smart enough to keep what I threw away then how can I be mad or upset. The only thing I can do is to wish you well and find myself a happy ever after. By all rights she should not be helping my father, and she is. That tells me she has let the past go. I am going to do the same thing."

"I would not say I have let it go, Drew. I have learned to accept what has happened in my life and not let it control it. I am the one in control of my life not my past."

Drew looked at Melody and faked sincerity as he told her. "You have given me some good advice I am going to try and follow it. I wish to thank you for taking us in and you have treated us with respect and kindness. A toast to Anthony and his Luna Melody."

Anthony is taken back by his little speech and makes one of his own. "Thank you for that, Alpha Drew, that was very kind of you. What you want would be nice to have, time may cover all the scars and things could be good between us again."

"It is my hope. Anthony." He then reached his hand out shaking Anthony's.

"It is up to you to start all over. We will start with small steps and go from there." Melody says "We have all had a long day and a late start to this dinner, I also have early rounds in the morning. I need to excuse myself and go to bed." She walks over to Anthony and gives him a kiss. "I love you."

"I love you too baby, get some sleep I'll be up soon."

"I have rounds also in the morning I will join her." Bonnie give Branden a kiss and leaves to go to bed.

"I will walk you up and tuck you in." Branden gives her a small grin.

"Behave yourself. I love you. Stay and visit our important guests."

Laurie got up kissed Frank. I think it is time for us ladies to leave you men to sit and talk maybe play a game if cards. Frank don't lose your shirt this time." She smiled at him and joined Amanda and left.

Cameron chuckled, I think your wife Frank is very smart. Would you gentlemen like to join our weekly game?"

Michael looked to Eric and Drew. Then said. "I haven't played for quite sometime it would be nice to play a hand or two."

With that we will go in the other room and have an enjoyable evening." Anthony says.

As they sat down Charley got the cards and the chips. "We play for nickels and dimes. This is a friendly game."

"Yeah, friendly for you because you win more then the rest of us." Kody complains.

"If you can't take the heat stay out of the game."

"No way everyone gets their day. Today might be mine."

"Not the way you bet and play cards."

"Hey, your worse than me at cards so don't start."

"I might be worse, but I don't whine like you are."

"Kody stared at Branden, "You haven't had to deal with them as long as I have. Give it time you will be just like me."

"Oh hell no, that will never happen."

Cameron, being use to the bickering steps in. "You two are getting on our nerves and I don't think our company wants to hear the two of you busting each other's chops."

"Dad's right you two act like a married couple. Let's play cards I want to take your money." Anthony turns to Drew. "Take a seat anywhere. Do you want a drink?"

"That sounds good, I could use scotch." Drew replied.

"Same for me." Eric added. Micheal nodded to have the same thing.

Surprisingly they were getting along after a few drinks. By the end of the evening, they were all feeling less tense. "Michael you are better at cards than I thought. What about a different game."

Micheal was a little tipsy looked over at Charley. " What kind of game do you want to play?"

"It's called tit for tat. You answer the question, or you take a shot. "

Drew who was not as tipsy saw what Charley was up too. "I think we have had a long day and it is late we should call it a night. If one of you would take us to our rooms I think we would all appreciate it."

Anthony nodded to Branden. "I think your right we will see you at breakfast."

"Again thanks for the enjoyable evening." Drew says as the three left with Anthony and the rest watching them leave.

Frank stretched out his back. "I am joining them and heading home."

"I'm with you." Cameron says getting up. "Tomorrow is a new day and we need to be on our top game."
