Chapter 59
After talking to Bonnie, I went to the office to talk to Cameron, "Can I talk to you for a minute?"
"That is a silly question. What's up?"
"You know that my friend Bonnie came here today. She seems to be the same girl I have left behind. She acts the same and feels the same to be around. I want her to join the pack, but I don't know if I totally trust her."
"I can't say I blame you, that pack did you wrong."
"How do I find out if I can trust her without hurting her feeling? There is no reason for this feeling, she was my only friend and she helped me. I think when she said they sent her I put my senses on alert. I don't know for sure."
"Has she ever let you down?"
"No, she always stood beside me, the night I ran she didn't tell them, and she gave me all her savings. So, I had extra money. Her and her mom kept me alive in a sense. That is why I don't understand this feeling."
"Could the feeling just be you don't trust anyone from that pack, that fear is being put on her."
"She did tell me they sent her here to talk me into leaving. She just wants to stay here with me."
"I think you need to treat her like the friend that she has always been and not think the worst of her."
"You are most likely right. She wouldn't hurt me like that. Thank you, Cameron. Come to dinner and meet her."
"I will happily come to dinner and meet your friend."
Papa Charley yells through the house that he was back with company. Coming out of the kitchen with mom and Frank. I want to introduce them to her. "Bonnie, do you remember my mother, and this is mom's, mate Frank?"
"No, I don't sorry, but it is nice to see you."
"It is nice to see you again, Bonnie. It has been a long time."
"Well, I happen to be starving," Papa Charley complains. "Can we eat now?"
"Not yet, Cameron is not here yet."
"He is always late," he grumbles.
"I am not always late. You just like to complain," Cameron says as he walks in the front door.
"Go sit. Mom and I will get the food."
"Frank will you get Carley for dinner please. Now you get to meet our other little angel." Laurie is beaming with pride.
Bonnie sits next to me and Cameron. "This is Bonnie, my friend. Bonnie this is Alpha Cameron, my father-in-law."
"Nice to meet you, Bonnie. I have heard so many nice things about you." Bonnie nods to him and doesn't say a word.
"When have you been shy or this quiet. He won't bite." I am not used to Bonnie being this quiet.
"Melody stop I am not that talkative."
"I like talkative people. You always know what they are thinking about." Cameron tells her.
"Really. Well then it is nice to meet you and I am so glad to be here."
"That is more like it." I tease her and nudge her arm.
"You told me about the babies, where are they? I can't wait to meet them."
"I fed them earlier so we could eat in peace and enjoy our meal. They will visit with us later."
Halfway through the meal Bonnie's phone rings. When she looks at it, she freezes, "It is from Drew. If I answer this, can he Alpha order me to say or do anything?"
"If he tries, I will hang up for you."
"So, I should answer this call?"
"Yes, answer it," Cameron encourages her.
"Hello," Then she puts the phone on speaker.
"I heard what you did today!" Drew is yelling at her.
"What did I do?"
"You don't plan on coming back, do you?"
"I don't, and I never did plan on coming back from the day I left."
"Who do you think you are playing with? I'm telling you right now you will come," Cameron closes the phone, so she didn't hear the rest of the order.
"Thank you for that."
"Give me your phone and I will make sure he will never call you again and as soon as Anthony comes back you will join this pack, he will never order you again."
"Thank you so much for that. Wait how did he know that I told you that? I mean I haven't talked to him until now."
Melody looks at Papa Charley, "How did he know that?"
"He might have a spy, or someone was listening in at the gate and called him."
Cameron mind links the guards to look around the gate for signs of a trespasser. "Let's finish eating, don't let that ass ruin our dinner." Laurie says with a smile.
Frank says, "Do you know what your silly sister did today, Mel?"
"No, what?"
"She decided to wash her hair all by herself and used a dye by mistake, show them. Take off your hat."
"No way dad it stays on until we go to the beauty parlor." Frank waits until she isn't looking then pulls it off to show her orange hair.
"Dad! You, how could you do this." She pouts. This changes the mood at the table. The conversation lightens up.
When everyone had finished eating Bonnie helps clear the table and do the dishes. "I was going to have the nannies bring the babies down if you still want to see them."
"Of course I want to see them. I can't believe you have kids."
The twins ran down the steps and the nannies carried the girls. "Meet my little pack. Wyatt and Hailey come over and say hello. I want you two to meet my best friend your Aunt Bonnie."
"Hi guys you both are so beautiful. How about tomorrow I take you out and get some ice cream and a present. You can take me to a toy store and pick out whatever you want." That got two hugs and big smiles. "Shit, I didn't think is that alright with you Melody?"
"Of course it is. Meet the girls, this one here is Phoebe. She was our surprise gift."
Bonnie furrowed her brows. "Surprise?"
"They said it was twins and it turned out to be triplets. Here this is Hope she is named after Papa Charley's wife and this is Sarah, she is named after Anthony's mom."
