Bonnie comes in the room all smiles until she sees her friend. "Melody what is wrong? Don't you like your mate?"

"He doesn't want me, he rejected me. Then he wants me to live on pack land and he is going to breed me. I'm not good enough to be his Luna. He wants me to be his mistress and I'm his mate."

"He can't do that! What kind of pathetic asshole is he?"

"The kind that if I say no, they are going to keep me in the dungeons. I won't even be allowed to raise my children. He is going to pick out his own Luna."

"That is crazy, he said he wanted you and I believed him."

"He wanted me, he wants me to be his whore. He said the pack wouldn't accept me and I am my mother."

"Oh, Melody I'm so sorry."

"They are letting me stay here with you to finish my trip. I'm going to run when they are gone. They have to go back to the pack for some reason, I was only half listening to them. I have my savings with me and most of my clothes. Please help me sneak out and keep my secret."

"I have about four thousand in my savings I can give you. It is Saturday, if you leave today you will have about thirty-five hours before they even know you are gone. If they catch you, I'm afraid they will hurt you."

"I know, but that is not the life I want to live. No one should have too. I have to try to get away."

"Well then let's get you packed. I am giving you some of my clothes, leave your rags here. This way you will have something decent to wear. Stick to pants and tops on the run you don't want to look too sexy."

"I am only taking a backpack; it will be easier to carry. It won't hold a lot, but it will have to do."

"You can fit about four outfits in there, if we squeeze maybe five. Let me get the money for you."

"I don't want your money; I don't need it. What are you going to tell them? You can't let them know that you knew that I left?"

"That's easy, I am telling them you said you were leaving with them. As for the money, you need it more than me."

"Bonnie, thank you so much." They hold each other like it is the end of the world.

"The money is in my suitcase, no one even knows I have it. Let's pack and get you out of here."

"Are you already?"

"All packed. I have a plan, with the money you gave me and my savings, I will make it. I just need to make good choices."

"Melody, don't tell me your plan if they Alpha order me I have to tell them. Wait a while to tell me if you're okay and never tell me where you are at. I don't want to hurt you and give away your hiding place."

One last shower and clean clothes. I look at Bonnie. "I am ready to leave."

"It's eight o'clock, the others are at the diner in town. This is the best time, you better go I will miss you; I wish I could go with you."

"I do too, don't forget me. Tell your parents I will miss them too and I wish she was my mom."

"I will never forget you; how could I forget my best friend. If we hurry you will be able to sneak out the back. Drew left some men here to watch out for the pack. Make sure they don't see you." I nod and leave with red swollen eyes.

Melody has a plan to go to a truck stop and catch a ride, They won't find me if I don't buy a ticket. The walk to the nearest truck stop is not that far, I just have to pick out the right truck driver. The place is very busy with trucks that go all over the place. There is this older gentleman, I have a good feeling about him. "Excuse me sir, would you like some company on your ride?"
