5 Months Later

Phil

It's been five months since the passionate yet somewhat regretable elevator ride with Kate. In that time I have seen her once in the empty parking garage but I know she didn't see me.

After that first weekend she texted me saying she couldn't go through this any more. She said as much as she liked me she couldn't be with a married man, which I always understood. After the texting stopped, work pretty much went back to normal.

I have started running but decided against putting a home gym in my office instead investing in a men's gym a few blocks away and working out there. I had now lost upwards of about 30 pounds and felt the best I ever have.

My home life is great as well. My wife and son are happy and in agreement with my wife I cut back ten hours a week to be with them. It made a hell of a difference and had actually brought my family closer together.

"Meeting set for eight tomorrow?" I ask my new assistant as he leans back in his chair fiddling with his phone.

"Ah yeah." He says not looking up.

"I know you haven't been here long but have you read the guidelines or were you too busy texting or some shit."

Apparently that got his attention for he sat straight up in his chair and he laid his phone on the table not making eye contact with me.

"Thank you now print out my schedule, and use your phone on your own time."

"Yes, Phil." He said immediatly turning his attention to his computer.

"Thank you, now I'm going out for lunch today and will be back in an hour. Call me about anything. I don't want a repeat of last week."

"Yes, Phil." He responds again while handing me my schedule.

I grab my jacket from my office before heading for the elevator. I make it to the busy main floor, but even through all of the people I see Kate walking through the front doors.

Her hair has now turned a dull
brown, her face flushed and almost shock white. Then I see her clothes and they are much larger then before and when I see her stomach I know why.
