KATE

As I left for work that morning I actually felt more at ease. I thankfully had no morning sickness and now I could go to work without feeling nervous.

Ever since I had started to show I have been worried that he would see me, but now that he has there wasn't a need to worry anymore.

As I stood waiting at the elevator waiting to take me up to my office a different familiar face had walked up to stand beside me to wait as well.

Maybe she won't recognize me; Hopefully she won't recognize me.

"Oh, aren't you that woman that was stuck in the elevator with my husband?" She asks while pointing a ruby red manicured nail at me.

"That depends, who's your husband?" I asked trying my best to play dumb.

"Whose my husband?" She half- mocked. "Don't you watch the news or pay attention to your own office building?" She asked now sounding condesending.

"Sorry?" I asked trying to sound confused.

"Phil..." She said as if it was obvious, which to me it actually was. " of Phil Harrison Reporting"

"Oh yeah, I thought he looked familiar." I said bringing a finger to my chin trying to seem in thought.

"You were in an elevator with my celebrity husband and thats all you have to say?" She asks now sounding even more mean, boy Phil you sure can pick um.

"Sorry, I read a lot of news if I have time for it at all." I answer, the one truthful answer I had given her.

"Well.." she scoffed, rolling her eyes.

But then almost instantly her demeaner her changed.

Her eyes scanned over my belly and a creepy grin extended across her face.

It was then that an elevator finally arrived, only it was our elevator. I almost didn't get it.

"What are you afraid of elevators now, poor dear. Come here let me help." She extended her hand to me and I couldn't stop myself from placing my hand in hers and riding the elevator with her.

"How far along are you?" She asks with another face altering smile.

"Just hit seven months last week." I lied.

"So that means...you were in here and pregnant. I am so so sorry. Your body must have been going through something tremendous to be that scared and worried for not only yourself but also your child as well."

Oh, it was tremendous alright.

"Everything worked out." I said as I started to rub my belly.

"I just hope your man is taking good care of you." She said as the elevator dinged notifying us of our arrival to her floor.

"He is." I lied again.

Then she was gone and the door closed quickly behind her.
