Izuku Midoriya was an ordinary high school student during the day and an aspiring hero writer. He had always admired the powerful quirk and heroic spirit of his childhood friend, Bakugo Katsuki. But even though he admired him, he also felt a little intimidated by Bakugo's explosive personality.
To deal with his feelings and explore his creativity, Izuku started writing stories about a hero named Dynamight, who had explosive powers and protected the city from villains. Izuku couldn't deny that Dynamight bore a strong resemblance to Bakugo, but he made sure to keep this little secret hidden from everyone.
One afternoon, while packing his backpack, Izuku accidentally left his notebook in the classroom. It contained all his stories about Dynamight and his sidekick Deku, who was hopelessly in love with the explosive hero. What Izuku didn't know was that this notebook would soon fall into the hands of someone with malicious intentions.
The next day at school, Izuku's heart sank when he realized that the notebook was missing. Panic filled his chest as he frantically searched for it.
Izuku walked down the street with headphones on, absorbed in his nervous thoughts while listening to music to try to calm down. He was in a hurry to get back home and find out if he left his notebook somewhere in his room. It was a peaceful day, and the sun was starting to set on the horizon. However, his walk was interrupted when a guy approached him, getting his attention.
"Excuse me, is this your notebook?" the guy asked, holding the notebook that Izuku had left forgotten in the classroom.
Izuku felt relieved that someone had found it and prayed that he hadn't looked inside. "Oh! Yes, thank you very much," he replied with a nervous smile.
But instead of returning it, the guy seemed to find amusement in the situation and decided to surprise Izuku. Suddenly, he delivered a sudden blow to Izuku's shoulder, causing him pain. "Did you write this shit?" he mocked, holding the notebook and pointing to the cover with the title "Dynamight: The Explosive Hero. It reminds me of someone specific."
Izuku felt vulnerable and exposed at that moment. His heart was beating rapidly, unsure of how to react. "I'm sorry, it's just something I write for fun, it's nothing serious," he replied, trying to appease the guy. "Please, give it back."
The guy, however, had no intention of letting it go. With malice in his eyes, he began to read some parts out loud. "Look at this! The class nerd has ridiculous fantasies about someone named Dynamight and a quirkless idiot named Deku!" he announced to some passing classmates, attracting the attention of curious onlookers.
Izuku felt embarrassed and desperate. He didn't want everyone to know about his story and the feelings he hid there, but he also didn't want to get into trouble. He tried to reason with the guy. "Please, don't make it public, I'll delete it, I promise," he pleaded.
The guy laughed cruelly. "Oh, not so fast. I won't let go of this opportunity so easily. If you don't want everyone to know about your weird fantasies, you'll have to do some favors for me," he threatened with a twisted smile.
Fear gripped Izuku, unsure of what to do. He was in a difficult situation and felt cornered. He didn't want his secret to be revealed, but he also didn't want to submit to the guy's demands.
Before the situation could worsen, a familiar and energetic voice rang out from behind them. "Hey, leave him alone!"
Both turned to see Bakugo Katsuki approaching quickly, his face showing clear disapproval. Bakugo stood in front of Izuku with a determined look.
The guy who was threatening Izuku taunted, "And what are you going to do, Bakugo? Defend your little nerd friend? He writes weird stuff about you! I dare say he's a damn pervert too." He took a few steps back as if Izuku had the plague. "Ugh, he disgusts me."
Bakugo clenched his fists, but his voice was calm and controlled. "What he does is his business. He spends his time writing bullshit, and if in ten years he hasn't cured himself of stupidity, you won't take it away from him with punches."
The guy laughed scornfully. "Oh, is that so?"
He pushed Izuku and started hitting him with the notebook, adding some kicks. "Don't you realize it, Bakugo? He was writing strange things about you! Dynamight? It's really pathetic! He's so fucking gross!" He spat at Izuku on the ground.
The guy was about to give another kick, but Bakugo kicked him first and pushed him away from Izuku.
With quick and precise aim, Bakugo created a small explosion on the ground, enough to make the guy step back in surprise.
"Don't underestimate my power, asshole. And leave him alone. I've known this useless guy long before you, I know how weird he can be," Bakugo said with determination and conviction in his voice. "Get out of here, you stupid shit! Or I'll kill you for real! And then I'll kill the stupid nerd for making me waste my damn time!"
The guy, feeling intimidated, finally decided to give up and threw the notebook back at Izuku before walking away muttering some excuses in the process. The onlookers also dispersed.
Izuku looked at Bakugo with gratitude and surprise. "Kacchan..."
Bakugo grumbled, obviously uncomfortable with the situation. He was already turning to leave without saying anything to Izuku.
"Thanks, Kacchan!" Izuku made an effort to shout at Bakugo amidst the pain from his injuries.
Bakugo looked away, a bit uncomfortable with the emotions in play. "Shut up! Don't be so loud! I'm much better than that stupid Dynamight character of yours! So if you're going to write about me, make sure it fits the character, you damn idiot!"
Izuku smiled and nodded again, feeling a warm sense of gratitude toward his friend. He knew that was Bakugo's way of telling him not to stop writing whatever he wanted and that he didn't see him as weird for it.
Izuku had hopes that Bakugo could become his friend someday... And if they could be something more...
...he wouldn't complain.
After tending to his injuries and washing his face, he wrote this scene in his notebook as soon as he got home.
His mother was extremely worried about the abuse he had received, but Izuku held a smile on his face. "Don't worry, Mom. A hero saved me."
That's what he told her, and he kept that feeling of utmost admiration in his heart.
