Unrequited Love or Is It?

Trans Midoriya Izuku

Katsuki tried to keep a cool head and concentrate on the mission ahead. Izuku and him were on the rooftop waiting for Todoroki's signal. They were about to take down a large yakuza group who were selling illegal quirk-enhancing drugs so it was crucial for him to be on top of his game. Yet with Izuku next to him, focusing was nearly impossible.

His heart was beating fast and his hands were getting all sweaty next to him. Just looking at his childhood friend was making Katsuki feel the so-called butterflies in his stomach. He had never felt like this before and he had no idea how to deal with these ranges of foreign emotions. For as far as he knew, the only emotion he allowed himself to feel was anger.

But things were not always like this between him and Izuku. When Izuku was Izumi (granted now he could see that Izuku was never a woman but rather a man trapped inside a woman's body) Katsuki was more comfortable around Izumi. They were rivals turned friends but Katsuki was not feeling the butterflies next to Izumi. He was not acting like a stupid head in the clouds kinda person who stutters and makes mistakes. He was the winner guy for goodness sake, he made no mistakes.

But he would be lying to himself that after Izuku's hormone therapy and reassignment surgery and after he had a growth spurt (boosted by OFA no doubt) and became taller, more muscular and more hairy than him, he started seeing his childhood friend in a differentlight. He was unable to help himself when he started staring longingly at Izuku, thinking about him, dreaming about him. These feelings were new and deep down he hated it. Especially since he knew that Izuku was dating someone else.

"Kacchan, Todoroki-kun just called me. He said they are inside the orange building. It is time."

Katsuki forced himself to get back to reality, giving himself a mental slap. He needed to focus, he could not afford being left behind. He looked around, trying to spot the orange building.

"It is the third building to the left. Ready nerd!?"

"Yes, let's do this. Go Plus Ultra!!!"

Katsuki laughed since Izuku was such a nerd and even 10 years after graduation still liked using the silly little mantra "plus ultra" .

To avoid being seen, they started jumping on top of the rooftops from building to building. To not take any attention, Katsuki even avoided using his explosions to fly. It was a stealth mission after all. But during his final jump, the wind carried Izuku's earthy smell. And maybe it was the nerds perfume but it was such an intoxicating smell it distracted him for a brief second which led to a disaster. He lost his footing and before he knew it he was falling.

"FUCK!!!"

"KACCHAN!!!"

Deku screamed and Katsuki tried activating his quirk but he was a second too late. He was on a free fall. He hit his head on the metal railing in the balcony and his head was ringing from pain and his vision dimmed and darkened. The last thing he remembered was Izuku catching him using Blackwhip before he hit the ground and pulling him towards himself. Then his whole vision turned black.

When Katsuki opened his eyes, the first thing he noticed was the bright light and an annoying equipment beeping in a rhythmic manner. He closed his eyes shut before opening them again slowly. 

"Kacchan thank goodness you are okay. I was so worried "

Before Katsuki even registered where he was, Izuku ran and hugged him. Being smaller than Katsuki when they were little, Izuku was still unaware of his own strength.

"Ow ow Deku. You will squeeze the life out of me damn you. Can't breathe."

"Sorry"

Izuku said and pulled away with teary eyes.
