Bakugou could feel the eyes staring at him. He didn’t even have to turn around to know his eldest son was in the hallway, peeping around the corner in a childish and desperate attempt to see the present his dad was wrapping on the floor of their living room. Bakugou smirked and pressed the last bit of tape over the patterned wrapping paper. He gently tossed the present onto the couch where several other sat wrapped and then sighed.

“Akio, I said no peeking.” He said, stretching his legs out on the floor. He smirked again when he heard an oh-so-familiar little gasp from the hallway.

“I not peeking!”

“Then what are you doing?”

Silence.

“Uh huh. That’s what I thought.” Bakugou turned and leaned over on the floor to look around the couch and up the hallway. Sure enough, a little blonde four-year-old was peeking around the corner. He made brief eye contact with his dad and then shot his gaze to the floor, blushing.

“I sorry” Akio whispered. Bakugou couldn’t help but smile. Despite looking almost physically identical to Bakugou, save for green eyes and a smattering of freckles, Akio’s blush and they way he wrung his hands together behind his back was identical to Midoriya when he got caught doing something embarrassing.

“Hey, grab me Hiroki’s diaper stuff and I’ll let you help me wrap Papa’s present ok?”

Akio’s gaze shot up.

“Ok!” He turned and wobbled slowly up the hall. After an incident and illness the previous March, Akio only recently started walking again after months of physical therapy. A lot of people thought it was sad, but every clumsy step made Bakugou’s heart swell with happiness. Because every clumsy step meant that Akio had lived and was with him now.

He was jolted out of his contemplation by the other reminder of the incident. Hiroki fussed from his position in a little rocker on the other side of Bakugou. Bakugou unbuckled the infant and lifted him out.

“Yeah yea I know. The whole building probably knows.” He rubbed his nose against Hiroki’s little nose before laying the baby down between his legs. “You smell like shit Bean Sprout.”

He ran his fingers over the patches of green fuzz that were just starting to get long enough to form curls. Akio reappeared and limped over to them, dropping to his knees next to his dad with an armful of diaper changing gear. When Bakugou was done he sanitized his hands and buckled Hiroki into his seat while Akio took the diaper to the trash. Hiroki seemed content, now that he was clean, to return to his nap. Bakugou walked to the coat closet and fished around in the back until he found the plain cardboard box he had been looking for.

“Is that Papa’s present?” Akio asked, walking back into the room, sitting by Bakugou’s roll of wrapping paper.

“Yup.” He went to sit next to Akio. “Hands.” He demanded. Akio held out his hands and Bakugou squeezed some hand sanitizer into his little palms before tucking the bottle back into his pocket.

“What is it?”

Bakugou opened the box and pulled out a smaller, paper sized white box. He pulled the lid off this box too. Akio wiggled closer to peek inside.

“That’s our secret pictures.” Akio observed. Bakugou nodded. This box contained a bunch of prints and a flashdrive from a professional photographer Bakugou had taken his sons to. Midoriya had complained a few months ago that all their pictures were prints from cellphone shots so Bakugou had the genius idea of taking the boys to do a ‘Big/Little Brother’ session with a nice local photographer. Even he had to admit keeping the pictures secret was hard. He had gone all fucking pinterest-y and had the boys wear matching clothes. Akio in new green sneakers, nice jeans, and a gray t shirt that said ‘Big Bro’ that matched the gray onesie Hiroki had that said ‘Little Bro.’
