The rain seemed to never stop. The night felt cold, water droplets gazing against the skin like warm ice. It was dark in the alley, but only a bit of streetlights and the moon made it possible to make out what’s in front of the eyes. The boys stood there, leaning on opposite walls, facing each other. Soaking wet and panting from the chase of cat and mouse. They were quite hidden from anyone’s sight as they stood deep inside the narrow alley, leading to a deadend.
Ground Zero stood there, breathing hard, his eyes closed and head rested against the rough wall. Across him a deadly villain stood, admiring the fatigue face of the hero in front. A soft smile played on his lip as he studied the other’s face so patiently. It had been weeks—no, months! It had been so long since he saw this pretty face. And this time he made sure he memorized it.
“Deku…” The hero grunted, opening his eyes to meet the green ones of the other—which looked black under the night sky. “I’ve finally caught you.”
“Yes, you did, Kacchan,” Izuku said with a sly smile on his face. “After breaking me out of jail for the third time, you caught me again.”
That was right. Katsuki had fallen for this boy way back in time. And so much to his curse, he never got rid of these feelings. He waited and struggled to hold himself straight for painful long days. But at the end of the day when the self-obsessed guy shook off some of his ego and confessed—he was hit by two truths. One was what he wanted, and the other was what it ruined it all.
Izuku always felt the same way about his childhood friend. But sometimes things get tricky. Maybe it was the bullying, or maybe it was the fact that Izuku couldn’t be a hero while being quirkless. But whatever the reason was, Katsuki blamed himself for Izuku to return as a villain after hiding for months. And till now, Katsuki could never give up his love for Izuku. And he broke him out of jail two times in the past, hoping that this nerd would take a single advice in his head and give up on being a cold blooded villain. But of course, Izuku got himself in yet another crime and walked back to the jail cell for the third time.
After breaking him out one last time, it was Ground Zero’s job to catch Deku, much to his misfortunes. And there they stood after a long chase. In the dark narrow alley under the pouring rain, cold and soaked while the sirens were heard from a great distance.
“Why do you keep doing this to me?” Katsuki breathed out. Izuku tilted his head to the side and cocked an eyebrow, the soft smile still evident on his lips.
“Doing what, Kacchan? Going around stabbing people?” His voice dropped low. “I thought that’s what you meant when you told me to jump off. I guess I didn’t catch it right…”
“Stop making it more complicated than it already is!” Katsuki spoke through gritted teeth, his face flushed red from all the overwhelmed feelings. “I risked my goddamn life to break you out so that we can finally be together, but of course you fucking messed it up and now I have to get you arrested!”
Izuku lowered his head and laughed lightly, his wet locks hanging down. “Kacchan…aren’t you so desperately in love with me? Risking your hero license just to get me out, knowing that might get you into jail with me?”
“You gave me no choice, dickhead,” Katsuki spat. His brows pulled tightly close together. He bit harshly on his bottom lip to prevent it from shaking.
“There’s always a choice, Kacchan. Arrest me and this time don’t break me out hoping I’ll give up on being a villain for you,” Izuku spoke the words slowly in a low tone. His voice acted like ice cold shivers down Katsuki’s spine, burning with emotions.
As Izuku lifted his head up and met the pair of ruby eyes, Katsuki could feel it in his skin. The raspiness of his voice. That look on his face. Those scars and that cold stare. He looked devilishly handsome in this state; in his ripped up suit and busted lip. He looked cold yet so beautiful. Like a rose with the thorns. And Katsuki was more than willing to cut himself with the thorns. He wanted Izuku more than anything, ignoring the consequences.
