The world was a mess. It always had been, but sometimes it felt like it was getting worse. People were selfish, and they didn't care who they stepped on to get what they wanted. Izuku Midoriya knew this all too well. He'd seen it happen to his parents, and now it was happening to him. His girlfriend, Ochaco Uraraka, had cheated on him with his best friend, Tenya Iida. The pain was unbearable. He couldn't stay there anymore. So, with nothing but the clothes on his back and a small suitcase, he ran away from home and went to the only place he could think of; the home of his childhood friend, Katsuki Bakugou.
He remembered the first time he met Katsuki. They were both in kindergarten, and Izuku had been teased by some older kids. Katsuki had come to his rescue, punching one of the bullies in the nose and telling the others to leave Izuku alone. They had been inseparable ever since.
Izuku knocked on Katsuki's door, his heart racing. He hadn't seen his friend in months, not since the argument that ended their friendship. He hoped Katsuki would let him in, that he'd understand why he was here. The door swung open, revealing Katsuki, looking as broody and angry as ever. His face softened slightly when he saw Izuku. "Midoriya?"
"Hey, Katsuki," Izuku said, stepping inside. "Can I... stay here for a while?"
Katsuki looked surprised, but then a small smile crept onto his face. "Yeah, sure. Come on in." He stepped aside to let Izuku enter the living room. It was just as he remembered it; messy and covered in explosion-proof blankets. Katsuki took a seat on the couch and patted the spot next to him. "So, what's up? Why'd you come here?"
Izuku sat down, careful not to get too close to Katsuki. "Well... you see, Ochaco and Tenya... they..." He took a deep breath, feeling the familiar ache in his chest as he thought about what had happened. "They hooked up. They were seeing each other behind my back. I couldn't stay there anymore."
Katsuki's eyes widened in surprise. "What? That bastard! I'll kill him!" He clenched his fists, the veins in his arms bulging as his anger flared up. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want to bother you with my problems," Izuku said, looking down at his hands. "I didn't want to make things harder for you."
Katsuki's expression softened, and he placed a reassuring hand on Izuku's shoulder. "Hey, you can talk to me about anything, you know that. You're not a burden, okay?"
Izuku nodded, feeling a little better. He looked up at Katsuki, taking in his strong, handsome features. There was something about him that made Izuku feel safe, protected. He couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be with him, to have someone who truly understood what it meant to be hurt and alone.
Katsuki shifted on the couch, moving a little closer to Izuku. "So, what do you want to do now?" he asked, his voice gentle. "Do you want to go back to school? Find a new place to live?"
Izuku shook his head. "I don't know," he admitted. "I just need some time to figure things out." He paused, then asked, "Can I stay here for a while?"
Katsuki considered the request for a moment, his expression growing more thoughtful. "Sure, you can stay as long as you need," he said finally. "This is your home too, you know that."
The two friends sat in silence for a while, lost in their own thoughts. Despite the tension between them, there was a certain comfort in simply being together. Izuku couldn't help but feel grateful for Katsuki's understanding and support. He wondered if maybe he'd underestimated his friend all this time.
Later that evening, as they ate dinner, Katsuki filled Izuku in on what he'd been up to since they last saw each other. He'd been training hard, trying to master his control over his powers. Izuku was impressed; Katsuki had always been strong, but he'd become even more powerful since they'd last seen each other.
