The smell of nitroglycerin was thick in the air, fresh plumes of smoke rising from Katsuki’s palms and mixing into a near overwhelming concoction.
As the dust began to settle, Izuku saw the red eyes staring back at him, burning with passion. The wolf was smirking at him, having hit a hard blow to Izuku’s chest as he messed up a kick. He was getting faster, but Katsuki knew him too well and predicted most of his moves. Sparing was less of a fight and more a waiting game; waiting for the other to make a small mistake that anyone else would have missed.
“That all you got, Kacchan?” Izuku smirked, bending at the knees as he crouched, leaning forward to rest his hands on the floor, ready to pounce. The muscled on his strong legs flexed in anticipation, ears twitching for any noise of movement from the other.
Katsuki barked a laugh. “You really think I’m gonna give in to prey, huh?” His back arched and knees bent, large hands flexing their sharp claws and small explosions popping on the calloused skin.
Izuku’s smirk widened. Green flicked over his body and his legs pushed up, propelling himself towards the blond at light speed. Katsuki saw it coming, though, and blocked the kick with his forearm. The impact made his skid back nonetheless, but he had guessed that would happen and used it to his advantage. As soon as he regained his control, paws flexing and claws hooking onto the cracked floor, he grabbed Izuku by the ankle and twisted his upper body with as much force as he could, flinging Izuku into a faux building.
Izuku bounced back, leaving the wall to crumble under the impact of One For All. He charged at Katsuki, and as the wolf raised his arm to create a blast, Izuku flicked his finger, using the air pressure to knock himself out of range. Katsuki couldn’t react in time, blast firing at nothing.
Before he could even growl in irritation, Izuku was kicking off the floor again and managed to land a hard kick to Katsuki’s face, knocking him to the ground. He hit the floor and skidded, dragging small pieces of debris that cut into his skin.
Izuku landed back on the ground, smirking as the dust once again had a chance to settle. Though it was only a short time before it would be back in the air, dancing along with their movements.
“What was that about not giving in to prey?” he teased.
“I’m going to fucking kill you,” Katsuki growled, wiping blood from his nose. He pushed himself up quickly and propelled himself forward with explosions, sharp canines exposed in a vicious snarl that Izuku knew couldn’t hurt him if he tried.
Izuku jumped, meeting him in the middle. He raised his arm to defend his face from the explosion aimed at him, then spun and laned another kick to Katsuki’s side. Katsuki gripped his ankle, claws digging into the soft green fur of the hares leg and pulled Izuku’s body to his, the other hand reaching up to grab his shoulder before pushing him down.
Izuku grunted in pain as his back collided with the concrete. Katsuki used this brief moment to sit over the hares midsection, legs holding his thighs in place and leaning forward to hold his wrists above his head. Katsuki’s body was much bigger than Izuku’s so he pinned the other down with ease.
They both panted heavily, taking in large gulps of air as they looked into each other’s eyes. Their faces were both morphed into a mix of passion and determination, still running high on the adrenaline of the fight.
“I win,” Katsuki said breath laboured breaths, lips curling up into a smirk to reveal canines as Izuku gave up struggling, head plopping back onto the floor. He looks down his twitching nose at the wolf, eyes raking his form.
