Chapter 18: Future

Brielle's POV

*The Next Day*

"I'm going to Sienna's." I told Andy as I grabbed my car keys.

"Alright, have fun." He smiled at me from the couch. I gave him a quick kiss before leaving the house and going out to my car. I got in and drove to Sienna's apartment. I climbed the stairs and knocked on the door.

"Brielle!" She exclaimed, opening the door and pulling me into a hug.

"Hi Sienna!" I exclaimed excitedly as she pulled me inside. She let go of me and I took a deep breath before flashing my ring at her.

"Before you panic-" I started but her ear piercing scream cut me off.

"OH MY GOD! HE DID NOT PROPOSE!"

"He didn't." I laughed.

"Oh thank god, I was going to be so mad that he didn't run it by me first." She said with a smirk.

"It's a promise ring." I explained.

"Oh, that's cute." She smiled, grabbing my hand and examining the ring. "Does he have one?" She asked.

"No...should he?"

"Yes! That way you guys are promised to each other!"

"Well, I actually came over here because I'm kind of in the middle of a spiral." I said nervously.

"Come, sit." She said, dragging me to the couch. I sat and took a deep breath before she cut me off again. "Girl, he marked you!" She exclaimed, placing a finger on my neck.

"What?" I asked, pulling out my phone and turning on the camera. I looked at where she touched and sure enough, there was a dark hickey on my neck. "What can I say, it was our anniversary." I smirked.

"Well, if the promise ring isn't enough to show that you're his, this hickey will definitely do it." Sienna said.

"Oh god, I hope my parents didn't notice it." I whined and then embarrassment set it. "Oh god, I hope his parents didn't notice it." I said.

"Well, surely this is not what you're spiraling about."

"Well, I wasn't." I said, looking at it one last time before putting my phone away and shaking the thought out of my mind. "Both of our parents were nagging us about when we were getting married and having babies and all of those really big life moments that are fucking terrifying! When we were saying goodbye to our parents, they noticed the ring and I thought he proposed, and we had to explain what it really was. His mom was disappointed that we were not engaged and he said "it will come" and I literally have not stopped thinking about it since." I rambled.

"'It' referring to a proposal?" She asked and I nodded.

"I haven't even started thinking about marriage! I mean, we've only been dating for a year. Is that suddenly a long time relationship wise?"

"As always Bri, I think you're overthinking this." Sienna chuckled slightly. "This should make you happy. He wants to marry you. He sees you in his future. This relationship is the real deal. Just talk to him, pick his brain, see where he's at timeline wise and see if it matches up with yours."

"That's the thing, I don't have one!"

"You'll know when you're ready." She smiled. "Speaking of relationships, I've kind of been seeing someone." She said with a nervous smile.

"Really? What's his name."

"Sterling." She said with a smile, picking up her phone. She unlocked it and pulled up a photo, showing me.
