Andy's POV

*One Year Later*

"Dad?" Madi asked as we were sitting on the couch.

"Yes bug?" I asked.

"What was mom like?"

"What?"

"What was mom like. I've always wondered. I mean, I've seen pictures, but that doesn't really do much."

"Your mom was kind, caring, beautiful, an absolute angel of a human. There's actually a video of her talking," I said.

"Can I see it?" Madi asked and I nodded. I pulled up the episode of The Andy Show that she was on and connected my phone to the TV. The two of us sat and watched. Brielle's face graced the screen and I felt my breath catch in my throat. I don't think I had ever watched this episode, I don't typically rewatch these. She looked so happy, so alive. I would kill to hear her voice again, not through a recording, but in real life.

"Dad, you're crying," Madi said when the video ended.

"Yeah, sorry." I said, wiping my eyes. "I-I haven't ever watched that. It just brought back a lot of memories of that day."

"You guys looked so happy."

"We were," I said.

"Mom was so pretty."

"She was and guess what."

"What?"

"You are literally her clone."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I'll see if grandma or Sienna have a teenage photo of her," I said, playing with a thread on my jeans. "She would've been such a good mom to you Madi. She was so excited to be a mom and I really wish she would've gotten that chance."

"I like to think that she'd be a good mom. But, you're an amazing dad."

"Thanks kiddo, that means a lot. I try."

"You said you wrote songs for mom, right?"

"Yeah, Beautiful Pain and The Void."

"What do they actually mean? Like the lyrics?"

"Well, Beautiful Pain, I actually wrote and read at your mom's funeral. It was all about how she died too young and how I was hoping that she was truly in a better place, even though the best place would be hear with us. I like to call that time a beautiful pain because while I was hurting over your mom's death, something beautiful came from it, you. The Void was about me accepting that she was gone and that I have to figure out a way to carry on without her, because you needed me."

"They're some of my favorite songs."

"Mine too."

"I love you so much dad," she said as she hugged me.

"I love you too Madibug," I said, hugging her back.
