Chapter 105: Dance
Andy's POV
*Two Years Later*
I watched as Madi came stomping out to where I was waiting.
"Oh I'm sorry, I'm here to pick up Madi Biersack, not Grumpy Gus," I joked.
"Let's go," she snapped. I sighed and followed her to the car. She climbed into the backseat and slammed the door, buckling herself in. I sat in the front seat, starting up the car.
"Would you like to talk about it, Slammy?"
"No," she grumbled.
"Okay, you realize we're talking about it when we get home?" I said and she didn't respond. We got home and she rushed out of the car and up to the door. Unfortunately for her, the door was locked and I had the keys. I unlocked the door and tightly grabbed her wrist, dragging her to the couch. She sat down, pulling her knees to her chest. I sat down next to her, waiting for her to tell me what was wrong.
"I want to go to my room."
"You can, as soon as you tell me what's wrong."
"It's nothing."
"You don't get all stompy and slammy for nothing. What's wrong?"
"The school is having a stupid mother-daughter dance," she said as her voice started to crack. I sighed, trying to think of a solution.
"What if we fly grandma down here so she can go with you?"
"I don't want to go with my grandma when everyone else is going with their mom. Besides, it's on Friday."
"Okay, why don't you go with Sienna?"
"She's already taking Brianna, it'd be weird if I was with them."
"Well you can't shoot down every idea I come up with, Madi."
"I don't even want to go! I just...I just wish I had a mom," she mumbled as she buried her face into her knees.
"I know honey," I said, hugging her. "What if I go with you?" I asked and she looked at me like I had a second head growing out of my neck.
"It's so girly dad, you don't want to go. It's makeovers and spa treatments and things like that."
"Honey, I literally wear makeup for a living."
"I think it'd be less weird to bring grandma. Like I said, I don't even want to go. Can I go to my room now?" I asked.
"Yes," I said. She stood up and walked out of the living room. I sat, staring at the wall, trying to think of a solution. I pulled out my phone and called someone who I thought might be able to help.
"Hello?"
"Hey Alex," I said. Since Alex and CC never had kids of their own, both of them have gotten pretty close to Madi.
"Oh hey Andy, what's up?"
"I have such a weird request, but it's for Madi."
"You know I would literally die for that little girl, what's up?"
"She has a mother-daughter dance on Friday, and is pretty upset that she can't go. She's turned down every idea I've had to solve this problem, so she might shoot this down too, but I just wanted to call and see if you were available and willing to go before I brought it up to her."
"Of course! Poor thing!"
"Okay, I'll run it by her and let you know what she thinks."
"Actually Andy, do you mind if I come over and ask her to go?"
"Not at all."
"Awesome, see you later," she said and hung up.
Alex's POV
"Hey Andy," I greeted, hugging him as he opened his front door. He hugged me back and then stepped aside, allowing me to walk into his house. I walked up the stairs and knocked on Madi's door.
"Come in!" she called. I opened the door and closed it behind me. "Oh, hi Alex."
"Hi," I said as I sat in her desk chair while she was laying in her bed. "How was school today?"
"Fine," she shrugged.
"Your dad told me about your school dance that's coming up."
"Ugh, of course he did. I told him I didn't even want to go."
"How would you like to go with me? I mean, I know I'm not your mom, but I don't have any plans," I said and she looked at me.
"You'd go with me?" she asked in disbelief.
"Of course! I love hanging out with you. Your dad said there's makeovers and spa treatments, sounds like my kind of night." I said. I saw a smile creep onto her face.
"Sure," she said.
"Great! Your dad will take you shopping for a new dress and I will see you on Friday!"
"Thank you Alex."
"Of course little buddy," I said, walking over and hugging her.
Andy's POV
"How'd it go?" I asked Alex as she came down the stairs.
"She agreed to go."
"That's amazing! Thank you so much for doing this!" I said, hugging her.
"Of course!"

"Are you ready?" Madi called down the stairs.
"Ready!" Alex and I said as we stood at the bottom of the stairs. Madi came around the corner and started descending the stairs. We cheered and hyped her up, causing a big smiole to spread across her face.
She had picked out a light purple dress that went to her knees. The straps were bows and then there was a bow around her torso. The entire dress was covered in dots that were the same color as the dress.
"My daughter is so beautiful! Let me get some pictures for grandma and grandpa!" I said as she finished coming down the stairs. I took some of her by herself and then some with her and Alex. Once I was done taking pictures, I pulled Madi into a hug.
"Dad, can we go?" she asked with a laugh.
"Yes, sorry," I said, letting go of her. "I love you Madibug."
"I love you too daddy," she said with a smile as her and Alex walked out of the house.
