Chapter 69: Painting
Brielle's POV
*One Month Later*
"I've got it!" Andy called as he used his gazelle legs to take the stairs 2 at a time. "Hey Jinxx, Alice!" I heard as Andy opened the door, hugging his friends. "Lennon!" He exclaimed, squatting down and lifting the small child, spinning him around. Lennon giggled, his blonde curls falling into his face as Andy spun him. "How's it going buddy?" Andy questioned, resting the boy on his hip.
"Hi!" Lennon waved with another giggle. Andy put him down and the child ran to his mom.
"Well, everything is already upstairs. Alice, Brielle is in the living room."
"Sounds good," they said as Andy and Jinxx began to climb the stairs. Alice walked into the living room with Lennon. Andy and Jinxx were painting the nursery, so that it was ready to set up after our baby shower next week.
"Hi Brielle!" she greeted, walking closer to me.
"Hi," I said as I began to get up.
"No, don't get up. I can hug you just fine when you're sitting down," she laughed, sitting next to me and giving me a hug. "I remember pregnancy, please don't waste your energy getting up. How far along are you now?"
"Six months," I answered with a smile, rubbing my growing bump.
"How exciting! Almost in that final stretch!"
"I know, I'm so ready to no longer be pregnant."
"I remember that feeling," she giggled.
"Baby?" Lennon questioned, climbing onto the couch on the other side of me and placing his tiny hand on my baby bump.
"Yeah, there's a baby in my tummy," I responded. He rubbed my tummy with a smile.
"Hi baby," he said, making Alice and I laugh.
"Do you guys have a name yet?" Alice asked.
"Don't even go there," I laughed. "Andy and I tried to pick one out last month, but it was an utter failure! We couldn't agree on anything! When either of us think of a name, we'll suggest it, but we have still been unable to settle on one."
"I wouldn't worry about it too much, you've still got 3 months. A lot of people wait until their baby is born before deciding on a name."
"Ugh, yeah, that's exactly what I don't want! The thought of going in unprepared gives me so much anxiety."
"It'll come," she said with a soft smile. "Do you have a few names that you like?"
"I love the name Madeline, but Andy's not a fan."
"That's pretty!"
"Thanks," I said.
"Is Andy excited?"
"He's so excited. He's been taking such good care of me and he won't let me lift a finger if he can help it. I'm surprised I'm allowed to walk," I laughed.
"How cute! Jinxx was the same way," she said with a smile. "How have you been feeling?"
"Big," I laughed. "Not as sick as I was in my first trimester. I'm just over it all," I laughed. "I don't have to suffer alone though, my best friend is pregnant too."
"How exciting! How far behind you is she?"
"About 4 months, but our kids will still be able to be in the same grade which is exciting. We always talked about our babies being best friends, so the fact that this dream we've had since middle school is coming to reality is so fun."
"I bet," she said. The two of us sat on the couch and talked while the boys painted upstairs. It felt good to catch up with Alice, I haven't talked to her in a while. It's nice to have a friend that understands what it's like to be married to someone in a rock band, and now we have even more in common while I learn how to raise this baby while Andy's on tour.
"Alright, it's done," Andy said, as him and Jinxx walked downstairs a few hours later.
"Let me see," I said, beginning to try to get off of the couch.
"Nope, you can see it tomorrow. The room needs to air out."
"Andyyyyyy," I groaned, throwing my head back.
"You know you can't be around the fumes, babe."
"It'll be five seconds!"
"No fumes!"
"I'll hold my breath."
"Brielle, just be patient. You can see it tomorrow."
"Fine," I grumbled with a big sigh.
"Did you ladies have fun?" Jinxx asked, picking Lennon up and tussling his hair.
"Yeah, it was good to catch up," Alice smiled.
*The Next Day*
I woke up the next morning and got out of bed. I waddled down the hall to our daughter's nursery. I walked in and smiled at the pastel pink walls. I started to imagine what it would look like once her nursery was completely set up and my heart fluttered. I'm so excited for this baby and every little thing associated with this baby makes me happy.
"How does it look?" Andy asked, coming up behind me.
"It looks really good, I like the color. You guys did good."
"Thank you," he smiled, wrapping his arms around me and kissing the top of my head.
*A Few Days Later*
"You don't have to come to every appointment with me you know," I told Andy.
"I want to," he said, rubbing my belly. "Just because I can't carry the baby doesn't mean I get to lay around and do nothing. I'm going to do as much as I can to support you," he said. I smiled and leaned over, giving him a kiss.
"I'm so lucky to have you," I said softly.
"I'm more lucky to have you," he chuckled.
"Brielle Biersack," the nurse called. The two of us stood up and followed her back. She took my weight and then led me to the exam room. The nurse checked my vitals, talked to me a bit, and then left. Shortly after she left, the ultrasound tech came in. I was given an ultrasound, and then my doctor came in shortly after. She talked to me a bit and conducted some exams before reviewing all of the different results with me.
"Everything mostly looks good. Your blood pressure was a little high which could be concerning if it stays high or if it goes higher. We'll keep an eye on it and I'll send you home with a blood pressure monitor and then you'll need to report back to us what your readings were. If your blood pressure doesn't go down, we start to get into the territory of being worried about a condition called preeclampsia. I wouldn't be worried right now, I just wanted to put it on your radar," She explained.
"Thank you," I said, feeling anxiety set in. Can nothing be easy? We finished up the appointment, thanked her, and left. I made my next appointment and then we went out to the car.
"We're setting timers for checking your blood pressure," Andy told me. I should've known he'd be extra about this.
"Okay," I said, figuring it wasn't worth fighting about.
