Chapter 106 (END)
Andy's POV
*One Year Later*
"DAD!" I heard Madi call from upstairs with worry in her voice. I jumped off the couch and ran upstairs. I went into her room but saw it was empty.
"Madi?"
"Dad!" she called again. I realized she was calling from the bathroom. I went up to the door and knocked.
"Madi? Are you in there?"
"Daddy," it sounded like she was crying.
"What's wrong baby girl?" I asked.
"I-I'm scared."
"What's going on?" I asked, getting ready to bust the door down.
"I-I think I'm bleeding. I-I don't know what's going on," she said. I thought for a moment and then realized what was probably going on. Shit.
"Madi, just come out of the bathroom, it's going to be okay," I said, not keeping my voice calm at all. Good going Andy, that's just going to freak her out more. I heard movement inside the bathroom and then Madi came out. She looked at me with tears in her eyes.
"Is something wrong with me?" she asked, fear in her voice.
"No Madi, you're alright, I promise." I said, pulling her into a hug.
"What's wrong with me? What's happening?"
"It's normal but I...I'm not the best person to help you with this," I said, running my hands through my hair. "Go to your room, I-I'll be there in a minute to explain," I said and she nodded. I went into my room and sat on my bed, trying to figure out how I was going to have the period talk with my daughter. God, I wish Brielle was here so I didn't have to figure this out on my own.
Suddenly it hit me. I wasn't going to have to have this talk with her at all. A smile appeared on my face as I pulled out my phone.
"Hello?"
"Oh my god, Sienna, you have to help me."
"Andy, what's going on?" she asked.
"I-I think Madi just got her first period and I have no idea how to help her or even talk to her about it. I think I actually freaked her out more."
"Oh Andy," she sighed.
"Please tell me you're able to come over here and talk with her about it. I don't even have any products to give her. She's too young, right? Oh my god."
"Alright Andy, take a deep breath," Sienna instructed and I did. "She's ten, that's pretty normal. I'll pick up some things at the store and then I'll drop by, okay?"
"Oh my god, thank you so much. I'm just so lost without Brielle in these types of situations."
"Of course Andy."
"Bye Sienna."
"Bye," I said and hung up. I stayed in my room, hoping Sienna would get here before Madi decided to come out of her room. I finally heard a knock on the door and raced to open it. I opened it to see Sienna, bags in hand. I hugged her and then let her in.
"She's in her room," I said.
"Thanks," she said as she started up the stairs.
Sienna's POV
I knocked on Madi's bedroom door as I stood in the hallway.
"Come in!" she called. I walked in, closing the door behind me.
"Sienna? Oh my god, I'm dying, aren't I?" she asked and I just laughed. "Why are you laughing?"
"Because you're not dying sweetie," I said as I sat in her desk chair. I gave her the whole talk and showed her the two different products I had brought with me, giving her instructions on how to use them.
"I'm sorry if your dad freaked you out, but he has little to no experience with this part of life," I explained.
"I wish my mom was here," she said sadly.
"Me too kiddo, I bet she would've done a much better job than me," I laughed.
"Sienna, is it okay that I kind of consider you a little bit like a mom?" she asked nervously.
"That is more than okay. I try my hardest to be a positive figure in your life, but definitely not a replacement for your mom. I consider you my second daughter, and your dad feels the same way about Brianna."
"Thanks," she said with a small smile.
"Now take this into the bathroom and try it out. I won't leave until you figure it out," I said as I handed her a box. She went to the bathroom and I waited outside in the hallway. She came out and hugged me.
"Thank you Sienna."
"Of course Madi. I'm always here for you if you need to talk about girl things, okay?"
"Okay," she said, nodding. She went back into her room and I went downstairs.
Andy's POV
"How'd it go?" I asked Sienna as she came down the stairs.
"I think it went fine. She seemed to understand and take it well," she shrugged.
"I cannot thank you enough for this. I'm just so lost when it comes to girly things with her," I said, shaking my head.
"I'm glad you called me, with something like this, I'm afraid you might have done more harm than good," she laughed.
"You're probably right," I laughed as we hugged. "I miss Brielle so much."
"Me too Andy, she would've rocked the mom thing," she laughed. "I told Madi she can always come to me with girl things."
"Thank you so much," I said.
"I'm always here for you guys, no matter what," she said. We hugged one more time before she left. I decided to go upstairs and check on Madi. I knocked the door and she let me come in.
"Hey kiddo, just checking up on you, seeing how you are."
"Do you ever miss mom?"
"Every single day of my life."
"I love you dad," she said, standing up and coming to hug me.
"I love you too Madi-bug."
