When the envelope was emptied, it contained just a bicycle ticket. He opened the letter inside and read its contents.

"Heh..." Lu Jianguo chuckled softly, thinking, "This third brother of Haozi's has a completely different personality than he does."

Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind, and the smile on his face disappeared. He thought to himself, "I never imagined things would be this unsettled within Anyang County's committee."

He glanced outside, noticing that it was already dark. He tidied up his desk, slipped the letter into his pocket, and took the bicycle ticket, preparing to head home.

Since he had recently transferred here, there were still a lot of things to deal with. Coincidentally, this bicycle ticket would be useful, making it easier for his wife with a bike at home. So, he decided to accept this gift from Haozi's brother and remember the favor he did by giving him a heads-up.

Meanwhile, back in the Fu family's home in Dashan Village, dinner consisted of vegetable and egg noodles. Grandpa Fu had a medicinal porridge she prepared, using herbs from her secret stash mixed with a lot of spiritual spring water. Not long after he finished eating, he started sweating. Before his herbal bath, she made him a cup of malted milk powder to drink if he got thirsty.

The water for his bath was a mixture of hot spring water and spiritual spring water that she secretly brought in. After adding the ground medicinal powder, it made for a perfect herbal bath with remarkable effects.

After Grandpa Fu's bath, his face was glowing red. With the help of her two brothers, he returned to his room. She then added some spiritual spring water to his room's thermos, and once Grandpa Fu finished drinking it, he lay down in his bed. Only then did they all retire to their own rooms.

Back in her room, Fu Xiao closed the door, entered her space with the bottles she bought that day, and began putting the ginseng nourishing pills and ginseng pills she made the previous day into the new bottles. Of course, before placing them in, she pressed the pills slightly to make them appear less uniform, so they looked handmade.

She also packed the gelatin blood-enriching granules using pre-cut newspaper, portioning them into small 50g packs, planning to give them to her aunt at the right time to mix with brown sugar for drinking.

Looking at the idle machines, she ultimately decided not to make any poisons. After all, this era seemed quite peaceful, and she doubted she'd need to use poisons. If she made them and never had the chance to use them, just having them around would be unsettling. So, it was better not to make them at all.

Out of sight, out of mind—she shut down the machine and went back to the study to pick up her textbook, resuming her review from the last session.

After studying for over an hour, her eyes started feeling a bit sore, so she closed the textbook, did a quick wash-up, and exited her space.

It was already late at night, and all was quiet.

Lying in bed, Fu Xiao soon fell into a steady, deep sleep...

"Cock-a-doodle-doo..."

The sound of roosters crowing came intermittently, waking up countless people.

It was just dawn, and a faint mist hung in the air, while smoke curled up from the chimneys of every household.

Today, the production team was resuming work. When the broadcast started playing the work bell, Fu Xiao slowly woke up.

Still groggy, she rubbed her eyes, got dressed, and curiously stepped outside, drawn by the sounds outside. The courtyard was quiet. Heading to the backyard, she saw that today Fu Yu was feeding the chickens. She walked over.
