Mu Nianshu pushed Wen Lan away and glared at her fiercely. "Why are you doing this?"

Wen Lan assessed her silently. Her stillness was unnerving, creating an inexplicable sense of suffocation.

Her gaze suddenly grew icy as she spoke coldly, "You don't need to know so much. Just remember that everything you have now is because of me. Without me, you'd still be stuck in that mountain village. Remember, you must do whatever I ask of you in the future. Don't anger me, or everything you have could vanish."

"Mu Lian Shen doesn't care about you anyway. If he knew you weren't his beloved's child, how do you think he would treat you? Don't be foolish. Just do what I say."

Wen Lan stood up, straightened her clothes, and looked down at the girl on the floor with a detached tone. "When you return to the compound, remind your grandfather to send your younger siblings to the same school as you. You're good with words. Your grandfather feels guilty, so he'll agree to whatever you ask."

Mu Nianshu bitterly smiled. "Is all this planning just to get me to benefit you in the Mu family? If you didn't want me, why did you have me?"

Smack!

Wen Lan slapped her without hesitation. Still unsatisfied, she raised her hand again, but then reconsidered, thinking that a visible bruise might be difficult to explain to Tang Ning. She lowered her hand.

Her voice was cold. "Do you think I wanted to have you? It was just a price I had to pay to return to the city."

She touched Mu Nianshu's reddened cheek. "You don't know what I've been through, and all the suffering was caused by the Mu family. I want revenge. My child, I love you, of course. Otherwise, I wouldn't have given birth to you or done so much to ensure you have a good life. So, don't misunderstand me. You have no idea how hard it was for me to have you."

Mu Nianshu's eyes grew increasingly cold, and she lowered her head, silent.

After a while, Wen Lan collected her thoughts and said softly, "I'm going now. Remember to go back to the compound this afternoon."

With that, she turned to leave. Just as she reached the door, Mu Nianshu's voice came from behind. "What about her?"

Wen Lan looked back, puzzled. "Who?"

"Mu Lian Shen's real daughter... Where is she?"

Wen Lan's eyes narrowed, her face showing a hint of cruelty. "Don't worry. She won't ruin anything for you."

With that, she left the family compound.

Mu Nianshu lay quietly on the bed, closing her eyes, lost in thought.

Her expression wavered, changing from one emotion to another. She suddenly opened her eyes.

She was contemplating what would happen if she revealed the truth...

She wouldn't have anything she has now. She enjoyed so much; she couldn't bear to lose it.

Her classmates often called her a little princess behind her back, and there were always people trying to curry favor with her.

They also bullied students of lower status, and no one dared to complain or provoke her.

She knew all this was possible because she was the only granddaughter of the Mu family and Mu Lian Shen's only daughter.

If she lost this status, would she become the one being bullied?

Would those she wronged and those who were bullied turn on her?
