The next morning.

As Fu Yu came out of his room, he saw Fu Weihao sitting at the dining table. His face was no longer drunk but had returned to its usual expressionless state, though the faint mark of a slap was still visible.

Noticing the low pressure at the table, Fu Yu wisely kept silent.

However, Fu Sui, who had just come out of his room, didn't have the same discretion. Seeing Fu Weihao's face, he couldn't help but laugh and ask, "Dad, did you and Mom have a fight? You shouldn't hit yourself in the face. It's embarrassing if people see this."

Tan Lingling angrily chimed in, "Yes, it is embarrassing. I need to ask your dad why he slapped himself in the face. It's like setting up a joke for others. Even though I didn't do anything, I'm being made a fool of behind my back."

Hearing her scolding, Fu Weihao quietly ate his breakfast, casting a cold glance at Fu Sui, who was still chuckling.

Turning to the irritated Tan Lingling, Fu Weihao said helplessly, "Don't worry. I'll wash my face and use some of your snow cream to cover it up. It'll be fine. I was just a bit impulsive."

Tan Lingling was somewhat pacified but still puzzled. "But why slap yourself? Did something happen?"

Fu Weihao coughed lightly, "Nothing happened. I just drank a bit too much yesterday. I'll be more careful in the future."

"You haven't drunk this much in a long time," Tan Lingling said, glaring at him. "Drinking too much can lead to problems. You need to know your limits and manage them better."

"What if next time something more serious happens?" she added.

Fu Weihao quickly nodded, promising it wouldn't happen again.

Fu Yu, who had been quietly finishing his porridge, set his bowl down and said softly, "Mom and Dad, we need to head to school."

He then grabbed Fu Sui, who had been watching the scene, and started heading out, but Fu Weihao called them back.

Fu Weihao pulled out two large bills from his pocket and handed them to them, saying, "Here's some pocket money for you."

"Thanks, Dad!" Fu Sui said without any hesitation, happily taking the money and dragging Fu Yu out of the house.

At school, the days were as boring as usual. Recently, Fu Sui seemed to be in high spirits, even finding their least favorite Chinese class interesting. He was more enthusiastic about school and seemed attracted to something fun.

But...

Another uneventful day passed.

When school ended, Fu Sui was noticeably less energetic, dragging his backpack out of the school gate. He saw Fu Yu waiting for him, equally lackluster, and forced a smile as they headed home together.

Fu Yu quickened his pace to walk alongside him, keeping a close eye on him. He gently asked, "Bro, what's been going on with you lately?"

Fu Sui shook his head and continued walking without saying much.

Seeing Fu Sui's drooping posture, Fu Yu furrowed his brows, ran over, and put a hand on his shoulder, saying with a smile, "Bro, let's go play basketball. Or, if you want, I can give you all my pocket money. Is there anything you want to buy?"

Fu Sui looked up, surprised. "Really?"

"Really," Fu Yu said with a smile, about to hand over all the money from his bag.
