A month passed in the blink of an eye.
Today was Fu Yu's day off. To avoid Fu Weihao, Fu Sui arrived early at the school gate to wait.
Recently, Fu Sui had been in a bad mood. He didn't know what had gotten into his father lately, but he insisted on dragging him along for daily workouts. Fu Sui had lost weight and was frustrated with learning those techniques. What was the point, anyway?
Winning a fight was what mattered, right?
Despite using less-than-ethical methods, Fu Sui always won. Surely, if fighting was about looking good, it wouldn't guarantee a win.
The kids in the military district learned techniques very well, but...
None of them could fight.
He wasn't planning to become an officer, so what use were all those fancy moves? He knew those moves already, but no matter how many times he tried, his street-fighting skills were still more effective.
"Brother,"
Fu Sui looked up at Fu Yu, who was walking slowly with his backpack. He called out, "Hurry up..."
Hearing this, Fu Yu quickly picked up the pace.
Seeing Fu Yu moving quickly with no sign of discomfort, Fu Sui smiled and said, "Good, your health seems much better now."
Fu Yu nodded, "Yes, the medicine sent by Uncle is really effective. I'm eating more now."
Fu Sui took his brother's backpack and carried it on his back, turning to head home with Fu Yu skipping along behind him.
"Brother, when are we going back to our hometown?"
"Whenever," Fu Sui replied casually, "But I want to give Fu Hong a surprise. Let's not send them a telegram in advance..."
Fu Yu murmured, "Mom probably won't agree."
"Don't worry about it. I'll handle it."
Fu Sui shook his head slowly, "You're good at everything, but you can't lie well. You'll end up getting into trouble. Learn from me."
Fu Yu remained silent, unsure what to learn from his brother since he was always the one getting beaten.
Although his brother was good at lying, he was always found out, so it didn't seem like a useful skill.
When they got home, dinner was already prepared.
Seeing them return, Tan Lingling set the dishes on the table and said to Fu Sui, "Eldest, go call your father to dinner."
Fu Sui froze momentarily and hesitantly asked, "Mom, has Dad calmed down?"
Tan Lingling's gaze dropped slightly, her tone calm, "You'll find out if you go to the study."
Fu Sui considered for a moment and decided to check. After all, he couldn't let his father stay angry forever. Besides, even when his father was angry before, he hadn't been too harsh on him.
At the study door, he knocked and entered. "Dad, Mom says it's time to eat."
Inside, Fu Weihao was seated at his desk, looking at him with a thoughtful expression.
Fu Sui cheerfully said, "Dad, what are you doing? It's time for dinner."
Fu Weihao's dark eyes were fixed on him, deep in thought.
Was this son really his own?
Could he even keep him?
He usually found Fu Sui a bit troublesome but didn't think much of it. Boys will fight, right? He didn't pay much attention to it.
