After settling down on his bunk, Fu Sui opened one of the meals and pushed it across to the other side, asking, "Eat up. Is there still hot water in the flask?"

Fu Yu nodded, picked up his chopsticks, and began to eat.

Once they had finished their meal, Fu Sui stood up to gather the leftover trash and tossed it in the trash bin outside their compartment. He drank the last of the water from the flask and said, "Xiao Yu, I'm going to refill the water. Come with me."

Fu Yu responded with a nod, standing up and following his brother. They also took the opportunity to visit the restroom.

In the evening, Fu Sui found it impossible to sleep after dozing for so long during the day. He turned his head to see Fu Yu across from him, already fast asleep. He quietly took a small blanket from his bag and draped it over Fu Yu.

Lying back on his bunk, he gazed out the window, lost in his thoughts. It wasn't until late at night that he finally drifted off to sleep.

When Fu Sui woke up again, it was already around ten in the morning. He looked over to see Fu Yu reading a book.

Climbing down from his bunk, Fu Sui stretched his sore limbs and went over to sit on Fu Yu's bunk. "Xiao Yu, stop reading for a bit. Let's chat."

"What do you want to talk about?" Fu Yu closed his book.

"Anything, really. Just lying here is so boring."

Fu Yu thought for a moment before saying, "Brother, did you really not send the telegram to the hometown...?"

"Haha..." Fu Sui laughed. "Of course not. I'm telling you, we should explore the county first and then go home. That way, we can surprise them."

Fu Yu replied in a calm tone, "Brother, you're going to get in trouble."

Fu Sui shrugged nonchalantly. "You don't get it. What's the big deal about getting in trouble? Besides, we haven't been home in so long. Grandpa will be too happy to see us to even think about hitting me."

Fu Yu remained silent, clearly not sharing his brother's blind confidence.

"Oh, right. I need to get a gift for our little sister first..." Fu Sui said with a serious tone, his expression full of pride. "Since she's so impressive, I have to make a good impression and buy her a present. Then she'll like me even more. If Grandpa really does want to punish me, she'll definitely stick up for me."

Fu Yu turned to look at him, "Brother, have you decided what to get her?"

"Not yet. I'll decide once we get to the county."

At lunchtime, the same chubby uncle delivered their meal again. This time, it was braised pork with steamed white buns.

The rich aroma of the braised pork caught the attention of a young man, around twenty years old, from the neighboring bunk. He walked over and asked, "Hey, little brother, who are you guys? How come you get meals delivered every time?"

"What's it to you?" Fu Sui raised an eyebrow, his tone quite unfriendly. "If you want to eat, go buy it yourself. Why ask so many questions? I suggest you mind your own business."

Seeing Fu Sui's fists clenched as if ready to swing at any moment, the man hesitated, then turned and left.

After he left, Fu Sui's voice could be heard speaking to Fu Yu behind him.

"Did you see that? It's really not safe on trains nowadays. Whenever someone asks you questions, just treat them as if they're trying to kidnap you. Don't engage with them at all. And if a stranger offers you food or drink, don't accept it."
