After greeting the familiar gatekeeper, Fu Xiao went straight to the second floor.

She knocked on the office door and, upon hearing a familiar response from inside, pushed the door open.

Fu Weilin, seated at his desk, looked up and smiled when he saw her. "Skipping school again?"

"Hehe," Fu Xiao grinned. "Today is big brother's exam. I came to check it out."

"Has the exam already started?" Fu Weilin asked, removing his glasses and smiling.

"Yes," Fu Xiao replied as she sat down on the sofa nonchalantly. "I'm waiting for him to finish."

Fu Weilin softly suggested, "In that case, make yourself comfortable. There are some books you like on the shelf. Feel free to browse."

As he spoke, Fu Weilin continued writing at his desk.

Fu Xiao gave a quiet "Mm" and walked over to the bookshelf. She picked up a book she hadn't finished and became engrossed in an interesting part.

She lost track of time until she heard Fu Weilin's voice again. Looking up, she saw him standing by the window and asked, "Third Uncle, what were you saying earlier?"

Fu Weilin glanced outside and then turned to her. "Your big brother..."

"Has he finished his exam?" Fu Xiao threw the book aside and hurried to the window.

She saw Fu Yu among the crowd below, dressed in a white shirt with the top button fastened, black polyester pants, and a black coat casually draped over his arm. His posture was straight, his features handsome, and his dark eyes coldly observing those speaking with him.

He nodded politely and gave a faint, shallow smile. In the sunlight, he stood tall and graceful, his serene expression adding an air of nobility. He appeared somewhat distant and aloof.

Fu Xiao's eyes lit up with a smile. Seeing Fu Yu like this, she couldn't help but think he was becoming more and more like Fu Weilin.

Fu Weilin sighed beside her, "Ah Yu has grown up..."

Fu Xiao turned to him with a teasing tone, "Indeed. Aunt is now worried about finding a wife for big brother."

Fu Weilin tapped her forehead with a finger, chuckling, "You're quite the mischief-maker."

He then returned to his desk.

Fu Xiao stayed by the window, calling out, "Big brother..."

Fu Yu looked up, his gaze softening as he waved at her. He exchanged a few words with those around him and then walked upstairs.

Seeing Fu Yu approaching, Fu Xiao moved away from the window and sat back on the sofa to wait.

A person downstairs looked at her with a strange expression, prompting a companion to call out, "Zhongxin, what are you looking at? Let's go."

The boy snapped out of his daze and turned to his companion. "Alright."

His friend asked, "How do you think you did on the exam?"

Before Zhongxin could answer, another voice interjected, "It's obvious Zhongxin will be first."

"Not necessarily," Zhongxin replied with a calm, icy tone, like shards of jade. "There are many talented young people from other places this time, and one of them..."

He didn't finish, but everyone knew who he was referring to—the current secretary's nephew. That individual was indeed outstanding, not merely because of his background, but also due to his personal capabilities. The exam in Anyang County relied on real skill, as evidenced by the secretary's efforts to avoid any suspicion.
