In the bathroom, as the time had come, Fu Xiao opened the door and called her two older brothers in.

She said to them, "It's ready. After taking a ginseng nourishing pill, you can go to bed."

With that, she left the bathroom and went straight back to her room.

Fu Sui and Fu Yu used towels to dry Fu Yu's body and helped him get dressed. Seeing that his face was no longer showing the pained expression it had earlier, they asked, "Xiao Yu, how do you feel?"

Fu Yu, his hair damp from sweat, picked up a towel and gently dried his hair. He replied with a smile, "Brother, it only hurt for a while. The rest was just a bit itchy, and it doesn't hurt at all now. I also feel much more relaxed, though I'm a bit sleepy..."

Hearing that he was feeling sleepy, Fu Yu quickly urged him to go back to his room to rest. After he left, the two brothers tidied up the bathroom and then returned to their room.

As Fu Yu lay down on the bed, Fu Hong's voice suddenly broke the silence, "Brother, is Xiao Yu okay?"

"Mm, he's fine. Go to sleep early," Fu Yu replied.

Fu Hong murmured in response and turned over to continue sleeping.

Fu Sui returned to his room and saw that Fu Yu was already asleep. After observing that his complexion seemed normal, he felt relieved and lay down on the bed, closing his eyes.

The next morning, Fu Yu noticeably felt the changes in his body. He could now endure practicing punches for a longer time than he had the day before.

Although he was covered in sweat from practice, he felt much more relaxed overall.

For the first time, Fu Yu truly believed Fu Xiao's words—he really had hope of escaping his nightmares.

He seemed visibly more cheerful, as if the shadow that had hung over him was finally clearing away, making way for the sunlight.

His family was thrilled to see his improvement.

During the second medicinal bath treatment, it was indeed still a bit painful, but compared to the first time, it was nothing.

After about a week of treatment and exercise, Fu Yu was now able to join them in climbing the mountain.

...

That afternoon, Fu Yu once again went up the mountain with Fu Xiao and Fu Kai to gather pigweed. Of course, his older brother Fu Sui joined them as well.

So the four of them headed up the mountain. Due to the group being too large, they didn't separate from the village kids to find Xiao Yu'er, instead following a group of children from the village in another direction.

They carried three baskets in total—two large and one small. Fu Yu was simply accompanying them on their walk.

After filling the baskets, they leisurely made their way down the mountain, delivering the task. They then went back up, walking slowly to take care of Fu Yu's health. In the end, the three baskets didn't fill up completely, so they combined the three partial baskets into one full basket.

Fu Sui carried the full basket, while the others picked herbs and fruits along the way, enjoying themselves as they descended.

They encountered many villagers and young intellectuals on the road. Fu Xiao politely greeted several acquaintances.

Suddenly, Fu Xiao felt a strong, hostile gaze directed at her.

Following her intuition, she looked in the direction of the young intellectuals and saw a female young intellectual, who had been clinging to her older brother, glaring at her with envy.
