Chen Ye sat by the bed, pushing Mu Lianshen with increasing force, "Lianshen, wake up..."

Seeing that there was still no response, he became increasingly worried and decided to call for a doctor.

In a state of panic, he rushed out of the Mu residence and, upon meeting the Zhai family, asked the third son of the Zhai family to fetch a doctor while he returned to guard the house.

Zhai Weiping nudged Zhai Yuyang, "Go and tell your Ninth Uncle."

He himself went out to find a doctor.

When Zhai Yuyang entered the inner courtyard, Zhai Jiu and others were having breakfast.

Upon hearing his words, Fu Xiao's expression remained unchanged, but she inadvertently put down her chopsticks.

Zhai Jiu turned to her with a smile, "I remember you have medical skills. Why don't you take a look? But don't worry, he should be fine..."

After all, they had grown up together, and though they had their conflicts, no one understood Mu Lianshen better than Zhai Jiu. Without Fu Xiao, knowing such truths might have been too much for him to bear.

With her presence, he wouldn't leave his friend behind.

Fu Xiao seemed to have not heard the latter part of his words clearly. She turned, went to her room, retrieved her acupuncture kit, and left for the Mu residence.

Upon arriving at the Mu home, she bypassed any delay and directly pushed open Mu Lianshen's door.

Chen Ye, seeing her, was about to speak but fell silent the moment he saw her next move.

Fu Xiao immediately took Mu Lianshen's left hand and started taking his pulse.

After a long while, Fu Xiao frowned, her gaze complicated as she looked at the man lying in bed.

Seeing her expression, Chen Ye anxiously asked, "What's wrong? Is it serious?"

Fu Xiao calmly lowered her gaze, "He's asleep."

Chen Ye was incredulous, "Asleep? How can he be sleeping so deeply?"

He raised his voice, calling out, "Lianshen... Lianshen..."

As he reached out to shake him, Fu Xiao swiftly stopped his hand and glanced at him coldly, "It's best not to wake him. Let him sleep..."

Sometimes, sleep can be a good way to heal.

Chen Ye considered her words and nodded, refraining from further disturbances.

He quietly exited the room, leaving it in peace.

Fu Xiao observed him for a long time, then gently tucked his hand back under the blanket.

Standing up, she looked down with an ambiguous expression and murmured, "So, what is in your dream that keeps you in this deep sleep?"

The person in bed obviously didn't respond.

Fu Xiao turned and left the room, leaving behind a quiet solitude.

After the Zhai family arrived with the doctor, Chen Ye, still uneasy, had the doctor check again. The conclusion was that Mu Lianshen's symptoms indicated he was merely sleeping.

Though his brother's sleep seemed alarming, his complexion appeared healthy, even with a rosy tint that suggested he was in good health.

Unable to do anything else, Chen Ye had no choice but to remain outside the Mu residence, waiting.
