Once again, Japan is going to be caught up in an unexpected and unfortunate situation.

The SF weapon that appeared this time, honestly, doesn't really feel like an SF weapon. Although it hasn't reached the practical application stage, it's something that actually exists.

Chapter 12: A Turbulent Beginning

Conference Room, Nakanotori Peninsula Base

One hour before Freya arrived at the base, the conference room was occupied by Zahanas, a diplomat from the Kingdom of Reumel, Quilt, a diplomat from the Kingdom of Amdis, and Japanese officials: Deputy Foreign Minister Tōru Awashima and diplomats Takehisa Horiuchi and Kaoru Masuzoe.

Awashima and the others were receiving a detailed briefing about the world's situation from Zahanas and the others.

"First of all, let me explain the 'types' of our beastman race.

The Beastmen

- Houndman (Dog): The most common among the beastmen. They thrive in various fields such as farming, commerce, servitude, and as soldiers.

- Werewolf (Wolf): Mostly active as soldiers, though some work as civil servants or scholars.

- Caitsith (Cat): Primarily involved in farming and servitude. Many also work as prostitutes.

- Dalaana (Horse): A species with a human upper body and a horse lower body. They work as merchants, farmers, and transporters of goods. In some regions, they are referred to as Centaurs.

- Vogel (Bird): Many serve as soldiers, but they are rarely seen in human society.

- Banditbunny (Rabbit): They work as farmers, dairy workers, and servants. Among the demi-humans, they are the most commonly employed as prostitutes. They are a staple 'commodity' for slave traders.

- Renard (Fox): They are active as shamans, fortune-tellers, and servants.

- Gnon (Monkey): Their appearance is closest to humans. They are very dexterous and work in various professions. Many are involved in magical science or academia.

"There are many other types, but these are the major ones. Also, it's not exclusive to us demi-humans, but we are still targeted by slave traders."

Awashima and his colleagues took diligent notes. Although they had been in this other world for nearly half a year, Japan still knew far too little about it. This ignorance could become Japan's downfall if they weren't careful.

"Masuzoe-san, is there anything in the conversation that caught your attention?" Deputy Minister Awashima asked.

Masuzoe set down the pen she was holding and responded, "Hmm... the issue of slave traders is concerning."

"You noticed that as well, Masuzoe-san? If, by any chance, these slave traders managed to slip through Japan's surveillance network and came to sell... or even worse, abduct Japanese citizens..."

"The chances are low, but not zero. We need to be on heightened alert, taking that into account as well."

"We still can't allow people from this other world to enter Japan for the time being..."
