The Special Operations Group will make an appearance. The war with the Thestania Empire begins in a surprisingly quiet manner.

March 1

Nakanotori Harbor, Nakanotori Peninsula Base

Barry Lomon, an officer from the Reumellian Foreign Affairs Bureau, had received a report that the Self-Defense Forces' fleet would lead the upcoming war effort. As a neutral observer, he came to Nakanotori Port within the Nakanotori Peninsula Base.

However, the sight that greeted him was vastly different from anything he had anticipated.

"C-could it be true, as Director Homulus said? Iron ships... floating... and they're moving... without sails?"

Escort Squadron 2

- DDH-144 Kurama (3rd generation)

- DDG-178 Ashigara

- DD-102 Harusame (3rd generation)

- DD-154 Amagiri (improved type)

Escort Squadron 6

- DDG-174 Kirishima

- DDG-110 Takanami

- DDG-111 Ōnami

- DD-116 Teruzuki

To Barry, these appeared as "warships made of iron, with intricate castles built upon them." He was left speechless, his mouth agape, as he marveled at the capabilities of these military vessels. He felt fortunate to be the first from the Kingdom of Reumel to witness Japan's military strength firsthand.

With an SDF member as his guide, he headed to a specific location.

"This is the ship you will board for the upcoming naval battle, sir."

Barry was stunned.

'Humans can build and operate ships like this? Th-This is like... a fortress!'

Helicopter Destroyer Ise

This is one of the Maritime Self-Defense Force's prized escort vessels (in fact, they're all quite remarkable).

Barry quickly ascended to the deck, where he found Quilt, a fellow officer from the Kingdom of Amdis' Foreign Affairs Bureau, who had also been dispatched as a liaison officer for the naval battle.

"Oh? You're... Mr. Quilt, right?"

"And you... Mr. Barry! My, it's been some time."

They exchanged a brief handshake, and Quilt couldn't help but reflect.
