I will do my best to post at this pace as much as possible.

At one point, the Hardique Empire, a former Great Power, gained powerful technology through the destruction of its own natural environment after gaining connections with the Republic of Lemuria and the nations of the Second World. It rapidly developed and sought to surpass not only the second-ranking power, the Sahenantis Empire, but also the world's strongest, the Great Valkian Empire, in its ambitions.
Among this technology was, naturally, the evolution of magic. The Empire's focus was on a magical principle that used the life energy of the individual to cause abnormal physical evolution and enhancement. To the Imperial Court's sorcerers, this was considered a terrifying curse. If applied in its true form, it would mean 'destruction.'
It turns humans into monstrous aberrations.
It would transform them into uncontrollable monsters with two horns called Minotaurs. Eventually, this became known as 'Forbidden Arts' or 'Forbidden Magic,' and was only applied to a limited few specialized units. The Emperor of the time paid a vast amount of money to acquire it despite much opposition.
The magical principle was still in its experimental phase in Lemuria at the time, and the data obtained was sold to the Hardique Empire to acquire more information. These data were sent along with trade between the two nations, including buffer states. Thanks to this effort and the progress made in analyzing the Philosopher's Stone, Lemuria succeeded in overcoming the first major issue of the loss of rational thought. Additionally, it was discovered that the higher the compatibility with the Forbidden Arts or Magic, the lower the loss of rationality, and the subject would gain superhuman abilities.
- Compatibility below 30% results in an IQ of 6 years or younger.
- Compatibility below 49% results in an IQ of 10 years or younger.
- Compatibility between 50% and 60% results in an IQ of 12 years.
- Compatibility above 61% results in an IQ of 15 years.
- Compatibility above 70% results in an IQ close to that before mutation, a high probability of personality abnormalities, and an ability to acquire some kind of different ability.
Most subjects lose a significant amount of intelligence, and while they possess incredible power, they cannot be expected to carry out logical actions or commands. Even if compatibility exists, there is no guarantee that the abilities will activate, which is a major drawback.
However, when the compatibility exceeds 70%, it takes on a different meaning. The value and abilities are of immeasurable worth. In some ways, this is a 'gamble' or 'bet,' but it is likely that it was this gamble that led that magical scientist to success.
'Lux'—
Strongly influenced by the Philosopher's Stone, it is a small crystal shaped like an inverted star that is implanted into the brain of the subject. It is a life manipulation sorcery, and the life activity of a compatible subject temporarily stops, triggering mutations and activating the powers. Those with compatibility above 70% can use some of the abilities even before mutation. However, those with a compatibility of 69% or below will become monsters with massive bodies and ferocious horns, while those above 70% maintain a human form while gaining exceptional physical abilities.
Those who received these powers unofficially referred to it as the 'Grace of Lux.'
