Today, I'm going to post about 2 chapters.

While the SDF has been establishing new divisions, I'm not very confident about the detailed role assignments.

Kingdom of Amdis

The country was in a state of urgency. The moment they learned the Thestania Empire was advancing, preparations for defense accelerated swiftly throughout the kingdom.

Audience Hall, Royal Castle

In the throne room sat King Bartolua, listening to a briefing on the recent Summit of Four given by Luckle from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After the explanation concluded, King Bartolua closed his eyes for a few moments, let out a deep sigh, and murmured.

"...How pathetic..."

"Pardon?"

"Those foreign officials from the Thestania Empire... From your report, they sound like nothing more than thugs with titles."

"...I couldn't agree more, Your Majesty."

King Bartolua replied nostalgically, gazing toward the skylight where light filtered through.

"Over 15 years ago, the Thestania Empire had its share of capable diplomats. But they, too, must have been consumed by that country's insanity. It's a pity, especially considering it was once a prime example of a strong nation."

"It sounds as if you're saying that they were an admirable enemy in those days, sire."

"Yes... Over 15 years ago, the Thestania Empire was a place of pride and honor. They practiced slavery even then, but it wasn't as severe as it is now."

Even in this world where slavery is common, it's clear how 'abnormal' the current Thestania Empire's slavery practices have become.

King Bartolua continued, "The former Emperor of Thestania, Rioumard Salou Mirgand, though an adversary, was a kind yet strong leader who always considered his people. As a fellow ruler, I respected him."

"...Was he truly such a remarkable person...?"

"Fifteen years ago, during a series of small conflicts over territorial waters, a group of Thestanian diplomats came here to resolve things through dialogue... That meeting was a heated debate—back and forth without a clear winner. Talks stretched late into the night, but ultimately, no resolution was reached."

"Their foreign minister back then was quite competent, and I couldn't help but envy the Thestania Empire for having such a statesman..."

"As a fellow diplomat, I find that intriguing. I wonder who that was..."

"Hmm... If I recall correctly, his name was Carnegie Lugar. He held the title of Count then; by now, he might even be a Duke... if he hasn't succumbed to the insanity of the current Thestania Empire."

"...Hm? Ah! Your Majesty, it's nearly time for the SDF delegation from Japan to arrive."

"Oh! Already? Well, let's see if they'll be of any help in this coming war... At the very least, they can offer us some information on the Thestania Empire."
