1st Trench Line, 100 km east of Harlow
In preparation for the Lemurian Empire's ground invasion, the Self-Defense Forces utilized their construction equipment and WALKERs to establish an extensive trench warfare line. This colossal effort spanned an area equivalent to the entire eastern side of Harlow. The Sahenantian military reportedly marveled at the SDF's infrastructure capabilities, having achieved such large-scale construction in a remarkably short period. Not only that, but they constructed multiple layers of trench lines—double and triple defensive lines.
Dense barbed wire networks were laid up to 2-3 kilometers in front of the outermost 1st Trench Line. Barricade blocks against tanks and vehicles were also strategically placed. The 1st Trench Line was equipped with Minimi light machine guns installed at regular intervals, and sandbags were set up to serve as improvised pillboxes for sweeping enemy infantry units.
The 2nd Trench Line in the rear was outfitted with numerous 155 mm howitzers and Type 30 wheeled self-propelled 155 mm howitzers. Any advancing enemies and their combat vehicles would have to face a relentless barrage of machine gun and howitzer fire while being hindered by the barbed wire and barricades. Breaking through this 1st Trench Line would be extraordinarily challenging for an attacking force.
The 3rd Trench Line was manned primarily by the Sahenantian Army. Many Sahenantian soldiers complained about being stationed so far from the frontlines. However, knowing that the unmanned systems of the SDF—like the mechanized, emotionless soldiers known as WALKERs—would bear the brunt of direct combat against the Lemurian Army, the soldiers reluctantly accepted their position, reasoning, "Better this than needless casualties."

Weapons from the SDF were also deployed to the 3rd Trench Line, such as Type 25 anti-ship missiles mounted on heavy-wheeled remotely operated vehicles from the Coastal Anti-Ship Missile Regiment. Their primary target was the Lemurian military's transport ships, with the main objective being to destroy them before they crossed the large river. Depending on the situation, attacks on enemy warships were also considered.
