450 km east of the great river, Sahenantis Lightning Invasion Fleet
The grand fleet of the Lemurian Covenant Air Force in the Sahenantis region, which had suffered devastating damage due to Japan's intercontinental ballistic missiles, began their invasion led by Lieutenant Commander Bilze, the commander of the Air Force. The fleet, still consisting of 90 remaining ships, set off under his command.
Although these 90 remaining ships formed a powerful enough fleet, and the likelihood of losing to the Sahenantis Empire was low, there is no absolute certainty in war... The Lemurian Empire's military still did not understand the cause of the mysterious massive explosion in Randalucia. If this had been caused by enemy sabotage, it would mean that the enemy had achieved a tactical victory.
It was simply unacceptable for the mighty Lemuria, blessed and protected by the divinity of Meruela, to fall behind foreign heretical nations or inferior creatures. Especially for a noble officer from a family that valued heritage, such a defeat could not be tolerated.
Despite being entrusted with a fleet of over 1.000 ships, the noble officer Bilze had destroyed the majority of them in battle. Desperate to erase this great failure, he schemed to forcefully launch a lightning invasion from both land and air to deliver a checkmate to the enemy.
'The Sahenantian forces are already on their last legs... Japan's military is also involved, but they are insignificant. We should be able to crush them effortlessly.'
Sitting at the commander's seat of the flagship Bilmarch, Bilze muttered to himself, his elbows resting on his knees as he leaned forward, placing his hands over his mouth.
'Our fighter pilots are the best in our invasion force... Ace of Aces Ruzel is headed there. Surely, they will annihilate the enemy and protect our fleet!'
Despite his hollow confidence, which lacked any substantial foundation, Bilze's fragile optimism began to crumble under the frantic report from the communications officer.
"Huh!? Weak signals detected at 3 o'clock! Distance 200 kilometers! This speed... it's likely missiles!!"
"We can't determine the exact number... but it's estimated to be over 60!"
"Wha!? We must intercept them! What is the fighter squadron doing!?"
Bilze slammed his fist onto the armrest and yelled, his face filled with frustration, but the communications officer hesitated before replying.
"Uh... they are currently engaged in combat with enemy air forces..."
If the fighter squadron is busy with enemy air forces, then this missile attack is most likely from a separate enemy unit. While unavoidable, the separate enemy force that launched the missiles must be dealt with here.
Bilze stood up from his seat, raised his arm, and sent out orders.
"All ships, deploy maximum power for the magic barriers!! Prepare for anti-air combat!!"
The fleet rapidly prepared to intercept the approaching missiles with 13 mm twin anti-aircraft machine guns and 28 mm anti-aircraft autocannons. The Kerifalte-class destroyers and Acero-class light cruisers, known for their high anti-air capabilities, formed a circular formation to protect the battleships, aircraft carriers, and heavy cruisers.
