The day after Japan was transported to another world, shocking news was broadcast across the entire United States.

"Breaking news! Last night, a magnitude 3 earthquake struck East Asia, and at the same time, all communication with Japan was lost! Currently, the government is making every possible effort to contact the Japanese government!"

This news was so significant that all broadcasts across the US were temporarily interrupted. Families, friends, and acquaintances of people stationed at US military bases in Japan or traveling there frantically tried to make contact, but no one could get through. The US government was overwhelmed with addressing the concerns of these people. And for good reason—Japan... was no longer on Earth.

This wasn't happening only in the US; the entire world was affected. Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, etc... the whole world was in a state of panic.

Oval Office, White House, United States of America

In the Oval Office, the President, Vice President, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and others watched the TV with grim expressions.

"The Chinese Navy has begun deploying a fleet to the Spratly Islands. The United States government has issued an emergency alert for the military base in Indonesia. Additionally, Southeast Asian countries have decided to dispatch large-scale forces in response to the Chinese fleet's movement to the Spratly Islands. Meanwhile, the Chinese government has stated, 'We are merely reclaiming what was taken from us.'"

"The United Nations Secretary-General, Sam, has issued a statement urging a peaceful resolution through dialogue regarding this volatile situation. However, the United Nations, currently facing criticism from many countries as 'virtually useless,' is not functioning effectively."

"Russia has declared its stance of neutrality, choosing to remain an observer in this matter."

"What is happening to the world? With Japan gone, the world is hurtling towards another dreaded world war—"

Edward Jones, the 54th President of the United States, turned off the television in silence. He sighed deeply, covering his face with his hands.

"Oh God... why? Why Japan?"

"Mr. President..."

"Since Japan vanished, the world has changed—and for the worse. The balance of power in Asia has collapsed, and with our military bases in Japan gone, China has quickly taken action. Russia, meanwhile, is clearly looking to gain from the situation. Terrorist organizations in the Middle East have also intensified their activities..."

"Additionally... with the disappearance of the world's third-largest economy by GDP, stock markets across the globe crashed, and the number of unemployed has skyrocketed and continues to grow."
