I apologize for the wait, but I'm now posting the continuation.

Sci-fi weapons will also make an appearance.

And as always, battle is difficult.

Lucana Naval Base, Thestania Empire

The invasion forces of the Dom Continent and the Halidom of Alfheim had gathered and were steadily preparing for deployment. Watching this scene from the top of the watchtower was—

- Duke Padrick Dungoum, Commander of the Dom Continent Invasion Ground Forces

- Duke Norman Lau, Commander of the Dom Continent Invasion Wyvern Force (the Wyvern Knights)

- Marquis Friedrich Dietze, Admiral of the Dom Continent Invasion Navy (successor to Gilligan)

- Marquis Juan Adritz, Commander of the Halidom of Alfheim Invasion Ground Forces

- Duke Emilio Grau, Commander of the Halidom of Alfheim Invasion Wyvern Force

- Duke Felipe Deharo, Admiral of the Halidom of Alfheim Invasion Navy

The total forces comprised approximately 7.500 ships, 200.000 ground troops, 250.000 naval troops, and 10.000 wyvern knights. With the reserves included, the numbers were easily 1,5 times larger. Ordinarily, with such a vast army, they could crush not only the Dom Continent but almost any low-civilization nation. This was a force even highly civilized nations could not ignore—defeat was simply unthinkable... In normal circumstances, they would have thought so, but now they felt the opposite.

While the six commanders outwardly kept a confident demeanor, deep down, they were gripped by fear.

"Lord Gilligan... was defeated by only three Japanese warships."

"Most didn't believe it, but Lord Gilligan would never say such things lightly... It must be true."

"The people in charge have lost their senses... Something like this..."

"Lord Gilligan must have felt the same. Still, he fulfilled his duty. If we are defeated, the Empire will undoubtedly fall."

To them, Gilligan had been a dependable figure, repeatedly repelling the Empire's foes and defending its borders. Yet, after a single defeat, he was thrown into prison, left only to await death. It was impossible to believe that the current government was rational. Nevertheless, they had resolved to do what they must, as Gilligan had done.

"Excuse me, sir. We're ready to deploy at any time."

At these words from a soldier, the commanders exchanged glances. The next time they would see one another would be after the war was over. They all silently wished for each other's safety.

"To all troops‼︎ The Thestanian military will now commence its invasion of the Dom Continent and the Halidom of Alfheim! Let us show them the strength and pride of our Empire's military!!"

"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!"

The roar from the nearly 500.000-strong army was tremendous, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!

The wyverns joined in with a roar as well, and the soldiers assumed it was out of excitement. But the wyvern knights quickly realized something was wrong. The wyverns' cries were not rallying cries; they were warning calls they made when danger was near.
