Kingdom of Nildor, a Hardique Empire-affiliated country

This country, one of the high-end civilizations, is currently under the command of the Hardique Empire, mustering its military forces in preparation for war with the Federated States of Cuadrado.

"How unfortunate. The country to our east has betrayed the Hardique Empire... As a result, we now must bear the burden of fighting on the frontlines for the first time."

"It's unavoidable, Your Majesty. As a vassal state, we must fulfill our duties properly... Otherwise, our Kingdom will be in trouble with the Hardique Empire..."

"Hm..."

The Kingdom of Nildor shares a border with the Kingdom of Ali-Wamba of the Federated States of Cuadrado, and currently, armies from both nations are gathering at the border, facing off in a tense standoff. The military forces of the Kingdom of Nildor number about 120.000, while the Kingdom of Ali-Wamba has around 130.000—both sides are nearly evenly matched, meaning that a direct confrontation could easily result in a stalemate.

Most of the military forces of these high-end civilizations are equipped with medieval armor, muzzle-loading firearms, and sabers. Meanwhile, large muzzle-loading cannons are lined up on both frontlines, facing each other. The situation is on the verge of erupting into war.

"...Given this war, isn't there a chance the Hardique Empire might send us cutting-edge weapons like the latest military technology?"

"Unfortunately, there have been no such reports or supplies."

"I see... I had hoped this war would serve as a pretext for the Hardique Empire to send us advanced weaponry... But considering the future, it makes sense they wouldn't."

"If the Hardique Empire were to provide the latest weapons to us and the other vassal states in preparation for the battle with Cuadrado, it could lead to troublesome issues later on. They are likely avoiding this."

"Mm..."

"However, there have been reports that they will at least supply us with gunpowder and ammunition... There is something else though... that is a bit concerning..."

"Hmm? What is it?"

The king's advisor then flipped through several pages of documents.

"There is, um, a report on Synthetic Beasts Chimera Type 1 to 5, approximately 1.500 units..."

"C-Chimera? Isn't that a type of monster commonly referred to by the general public?"

Monsters are a common part of this world's natural order. Thus, the King of Nildor thought the "Chimera" referred to a new species of magical beast.

"Actually, no... The so-called magical beasts that appeared in the Thestania Empire are also officially referred to as Synthetic Beast Chimera."

"So, those things that wreaked havoc in Thestania weren't animals at all, but biological weapons of the Hardique Empire—those Chimeras!?"

"That's about the gist of it..."

"What the..."

Naval Port, Kingdom of Nildor

Normally, the Kingdom of Nildor's galleons would be docked at this naval port, but now several steam transport ships carrying military supplies from the Hardique Empire are docked here. As a result, the Nildorian galleons have been pushed out and anchored further away in the open sea.
