Imperial Capital, Thestania Empire
The slaves within the imperial capital of the Thestania Empire were overjoyed with the freedom they had won. Some even stood arm-in-arm with friends, singing songs. Meanwhile, Thestanian soldiers huddled together in fear, shrinking back from the jubilant crowd.
"What... what's going to happen to us?"
"We're going to be killed... we're going to be killed..."
"Why...? Wasn't the Thestania Empire the God-chosen nation...?"
As they sang, one of the slaves noticed something moving in an alleyway.
"Huh? What's that?"
He gripped his weapon and cautiously approached the location. Peering into the alley, he discovered a corpse. But it wasn't an ordinary corpse—it was horribly mangled, half-devoured.
"Gah! W-what the—"
Before he could voice his shock, he suddenly lost consciousness. In his place, a cyclops, a monstrous, one-eyed figure wielding a club, appeared, feasting on the earlier corpse and the slave himself with a gruesome relish.
Grrrr...
The sudden appearance of the cyclops sent shock waves through the slaves, captured Thestanian soldiers, and citizens alike. Why was a monster from the Colosseum here...? Yet, without answering their questions, the cyclops swung its club twice, instantly reducing the nearby humans to pieces of flesh. Following the cyclops, various other monstrous beasts emerged, launching a relentless assault on the slaves and townsfolk.
Grr... Grr... GRROOOOAAAARR!!
With a terrifying roar unlike any ordinary beast, the monsters reveled in their newfound freedom—and in the abundant feast scattered everywhere around them.

Grand Plaza, Rodom, Thestania Empire
Grrr...gr...GRRRROOOAAAARRR!!
"!!"
A sudden roar echoed throughout the capital, startling both the SDF members and the slaves who noticed it.
"What... what was that sound?"
"It came from over there."
The SDF members showed looks of confusion and unease. Understandably so; even Burgos and the others had sensed something was seriously wrong. Just then, First Lieutenant Kawajiri, noticing that Burgos seemed to realize something, questioned him.
"Burgos-san, what was that roar just now?"
"It... it's the beasts from the Colosseum. Could it be that they've escaped!?"
"But, Burgos-san! None of us have done anything near the Colosseum!"
"That's right! We all know just how dangerous those things are!"
"Uh...hmm..."
After a moment of contemplation, Kawajiri murmured.
"Perhaps... they were released by the emperor's orders to kill us...?"
"What!? If they do that, it won't just be us; even the citizens of this city will be caught in the collateral damage!"
"They probably don't care, as long as it means getting rid of us."
