Prime Minister Hirose and the ministers from various government agencies had gathered for a meeting.

"So, the situation at the Land of Owari's borders is finally stabilizing, huh?"

At Hirose's words, Defense Minister Kuze nodded.

"Yes. The removal of Lemuria's flying warships is proceeding without a hitch. While there were few ships that retained their original form, we've learned from captured prisoners that the official name of that super-dreadnought is the Varngorst-class heavy armored battleship."

"Heavy armored...? Sounds tough."

The Varngorst-class, designed with the concept of fleet battles between battleships and enhanced resonant defensive capabilities using magical barriers, was considered the latest in technology and reputed as an unsinkable ship within the Lemurian Empire. Measuring 660 meters in length, it was armed with two 48 cm twin turrets each at the bow and stern, as well as five 20 cm single turrets on each side. Its adamantite-layered heavy armor plates, capable of deflecting all manner of projectiles, ensured it could overpower enemy ships in frontal engagements or broadsides.

"According to the captured Lemurian soldiers, no Varngorst-class ship had ever been sunk before."

"Yet, that unsinkable ship was indeed shot down. If I recall, it was neutralized using seven railgun batteries located on the mountain peaks at the border, correct?"

As another minister commented, Kuze nodded silently but interrupted him.

"However... the reports from the SDF officers involved indicate that the armor was exceptionally tough and formidable. It took nearly all the batteries firing in unison to manage a narrow victory. Furthermore, the impact from the 48-centimeter shells, even though they didn't score a direct hit, was powerful enough to disrupt the electromagnetic cables. It remains a significant threat."

"I see... In that case, expanding and upgrading the emplacements becomes an urgent priority," Hirose concluded, glancing at the Minister of Finance, who sighed and shook his head.

Among the other captured vessels were the Kerifalte-class destroyer, Acero-class light cruiser, Palediero-class heavy cruiser, and the Gale-class aircraft carrier, along with multiple carrier-based aircraft. These had been successfully transported to SDF Station 8 in the Land of Owari and were en route to domestic facilities via supply depots. The analysis and research were to be conducted by a team of experts, including sorcerers and mages from the Kingdoms of Reumel and Amdis, employees of the newly established Japanese Magical Research Bureau, and technical operatives from various fields.

At this point, Deputy Prime Minister Nanbara redirected the discussion.

"Thus, we will analyze the captured enemy ships and aircraft and compile a report once we have sufficient findings. Now, moving on to the progress of force augmentation for defense measures. Currently, eight escort ships, led by the strategic air defense ship Hōshō, from Escort Flotilla 5's Escort Squadron 16, are stationed in the Land of Owari, where direct military conflicts with the Lemurian Empire are occurring.
