'This... this is wrong!'
This was no longer a Crusade; it was a one-sided massacre.
The Lemurian Empire's 2nd Fleet of the Covenant's Eastern Frontier Expeditionary Army, one of the most formidable fleets stationed in the eastern regions, had achieved the previously impossible: overcoming the Mithril Zone and unleashing merciless bombardment upon the heretic states' populations living in the Gobba Mountains.
The Termente-class's two triple 45 cm turrets, the Relámpago-class's three triple 45 cm turrets, the Espada-class's two triple 45 cm turrets, and the 2nd Fleet flagship Dolorosa-class's two triple 45 cm turrets. There was a total of 27 main guns.
Additionally, the fleet's underside was fitted with 15 cm single cannons and 20 cm single turrets, for a total of 19 secondary guns.
Even with just these weapons, the fleet possessed overwhelming destructive power, further augmented by relentless shelling from heavy and light cruisers.
The once-majestic natural scenery—the towering mountains—transformed within mere minutes into a hellscape engulfed by explosions and black smoke. Flocks of birds fled in terror from the forests at the foot of the mountains. Shells struck with devastating impact, sending countless rocks flying in all directions.
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOOOOM!! BOOOOM!! BOOM! BOOM!!
THUUUUMMM...!
"Fire at will. Turn the Gobba Mountains into a wasteland," commanded Tsarda, sipping tea as he sat in the command seat.
The order was promptly relayed by the communications officer to all ships.
"Are we using Type 6 shells?"
"Yes, sir. The new ones."
"Excellent."
The ammunition in use was the newly developed Type 6 Magic Shell, an advanced armor-piercing round created recently in Haldrok. Its cutting-edge feature was a delayed-action fuse. After penetrating thick armor, the Type 6 would detonate inside unarmored sections, delivering devastating internal damage to enemy ships.
"Those Type 6 shells can cause heavy damage to the mountain's interior. The barbarians likely use parts of the mountain as their base, which may include hollow areas. If we continue the bombardment... look!"
Suddenly, part of the Gobba Mountains' slope visibly caved in, even from this distance.
After several minutes of relentless shelling, the barrage finally ceased. The once-proud Gobba Mountains were left unrecognizable, now obscured by billowing black smoke.
Satisfied with the destruction, Tsarda issued another command.
"Deploy this vessel's and the Gale-class carriers' aircraft. Eliminate any survivors hiding in the forests around the mountain's base."
"Aye!"
The communications officer relayed the orders to the Second Bridge and all carriers.
Moments later, a total of 30 Estrela aircraft launched from two Gale-class carriers. The Dolorosa-class followed suit, deploying Estrelas from its rear flight deck.
