Communications Room 1 of the Information and Communication Section, Lemurian Empire Covenant Western Invasion Force Relay Base, Boude Island
Approximately 3.500 kilometers east of the Sahenantis Empire's easternmost military base, Kama, lies Boude Island, an area comparable in size to Borneo on Earth. Previously, it served as a site for annual long-range aviation training conducted by the Sahenantis Empire's military. However, it has since been repurposed as a relay base for the Lemurian Empire's Covenant Western Outer World Invasion Force.
In the first communication room of the relay base's information and communication section, two officers stood in front of a large magical monitor.
One was Beuls, the base commander and army general. The other was General Moogner, commander of the 9th Mobile Fleet of the Western Invasion Force Aerial Division.
"I see... so there's no issue with the invasion force's operational sustainability, correct?"
The speaker on the monitor was General Bamir, the Supreme Commander of the Covenant's Western Invasion Force. His expression was serious.
The one answering was Beuls.
"Yes, sir. Presently, the teleporter devices installed at Eze, Olm, and Randalucia have been utterly destroyed by attacks from an unidentified enemy. However, by a miracle, the majority of the fleet dispatched to the Sahenantis front has gathered at Randalucia, our foremost frontline. The main fleet remains intact. Lieutenant General Bilze reports that he will proceed with the planned lightning invasion."
"I see. Still, the enemy has done quite the job on us."
"Yes, sir. It's reasonable to assume that the enemy has identified our dependency on the teleporters for logistics. The main concern is the method they used... Could it be a special unit of the Sahenantis Empire?"
"No, it's likely the Japanese military. Sahenantis hosts two Japanese military bases. I doubt Sahenantis alone could achieve such a feat."
"Do you mean the Japanese forces that reportedly repelled the Owari Expeditionary Force? I've heard that their power exceeds Sahenantis but falls short of Valkia."
"That's a distinct possibility."
Bamir on the screen placed his hand on his chin, deep in thought. The enemy had simultaneously and precisely destroyed the Gates at three key occupied locations. The real issue, as Beuls pointed out, was understanding their method. Witnesses claimed that the Gates "suddenly exploded."
Initially, Bamir considered the possibility of a land-based attack but quickly dismissed it. Photographs from the scenes revealed an extraordinary level of destructive power, far beyond conventional explosives. Penetrating such tight security with explosives large enough to destroy massive structures was nearly impossible.
The only plausible explanation was an aerial assault. However, even the skies were under constant surveillance by anti-air magical radars, reconnaissance aircraft, and fighters. If the enemy had conducted an air raid undetected, it would indicate that they possessed extraordinarily advanced aerial weaponry.
'Does Japan's tech rival ours? Or could they surpass us in certain fields? The case with the Owari Expeditionary Force is troubling...'
A particular report received a few days prior flashed through Bamir's mind.
