AWorldOfHerOwn Maybe this will make up for the new "Careful... It Might Burn" book... it's a little long, but hopefully will make you feel better.
Tabby took all the donors back to a room to begin getting them hooked up to donate. There were a few checks they needed to make before letting each person donate blood. Once all lab tests came back perfect, she called several phlebotomists to help her get them all started. While they waited for them to arrive, she got all the donors sat in a chair comfortably. The nurse approached Marjorie's chair as she brought the supplies she needed. "Thank you for coming through for Siobhan. She most likely wouldn't have made it without this blood. You are saving her life— and Vivian's too."
Marjorie seems to zone out momentarily before she starts to ramble to Tabby. As the nurse gets to the side of her chair, she shakes her head, breaking out of her trance. "The chances that Siobhan is O-negative. That I can help." She releases a soft sigh, "I'm now glad my stepdad was so paranoid. So worried what it would look like if they let something happen to me. That's why he tracked down all the people with O-negative." With an annoyed eye roll she continued again, "They never really cared about me— it was about the power. Always about control and power." Marjorie's demeanor shifted slightly as the words she just uttered echoed through her mind.
That's what everything is about right? Control and power? I love to think that most people think beyond that, but I keep getting proven wrong. I used to think that's all Siobhan wanted, but now that she is with Vivian we have all gotten to see the true person that was hidden for so long. Vivian has been the best thing that has happened to that woman. And to be honest, Siobhan has been the best thing to happen to Vivian. Even through all their struggles, the way they have brought the best out of each other. It's just so beautiful.
In the emergency department, the doctor enters Siobhan's room informing her that as soon as they have the blood donated they will take her to surgery. When the doctor left, Charlotte spoke softly, "Mia, let's get started on planning this wedding thing." Siobhan smiles at her friend, thankful that she is giving the two of them some time alone. Mia turns to Vivian with a teasing tone, "don't do anything I wouldn't do," winking as she exits the room.
Vivian threads her fingers through Siobhan's hair, brushing the blonde locks softly as she teasingly whispers, "Bon, you surprised me with your dream wedding dress. I always thought it would be completely black. What changed?" The blonde nuzzled even closer to Vivian with a soft chuckle breaking the silence, "You— you were the change, Viv."
Siobhan reached for the locket still clinging to her neck, as she held it gently between her fingers she continued, "I never realized how much of myself Roger stole from me— until I met you. You brought me back to life, Viv. When I fell in love with you, I found joy again— it was painful, but so worth it. I didn't need to hide in the black anymore— don't get me wrong now, I still love my black. I'm just safe again and I have found color again in my life with you." Siobhan's grip tightened around the precious locket as she smiled and closed her eyes while flashes of the day she knew she had fallen in love with the brunette cascade through her mind.
The blonde turned slowly to look up at her partner feeling her chest still against her cheek. Siobhan's words took her breath away and tears began to flow down her cheeks. Finally she takes a breath, "Wow, Bon. I wasn't expecting that. I have loved getting to see the real you. I caught a glimpse in the beginning and I was hooked— I needed to find her— I need to find you." Vivian closed the gap between them, connecting their lips in a kiss that seemed to transport them to their own tranquil place. Again, like so many times before, a glass bubble seemed to lower around them shielding them from the chaos of their surroundings.
