Vivian spoke up, "Laurel, we will have to get back to you on that..." The caseworker chuckled, "I would have been more worried if you didn't take time to think about it. You two have a lot going on." She sighed, "Look, I'll come Thursday for my walk through. Don't feel rushed to have an answer by then, but we can talk then too. I look forward to meeting Jamie."
As Laurel mentioned Jamie, Vivian smacked her palm to her forehead, "We will see you then, Laurel. Thanks." Siobhan ended the call, "Viv?" The brunette looked up at her wife, "Jamie has a ball game tonight." The blonde laughs, "Well, that is a welcome distraction. We will go as a family and enjoy our time."
Shadow interrupted, "This is quite wholesome, but what are we doing about this framing situation?" Siobhan and Vivian both looked at him, "well... you're the lawyer..." He rolled his eyes and lifted his hands in surrender. "You're right. I'll figure it all out. Just don't do anything stupid in the meantime." His eyes flicker to Vivian.
The woman gasps in mock offense, "What? I've been behaving..." The man rolls his eyes as he stands to leave. As he begins walking away, Vivian winks at Siobhan and whispers just loud enough for Shadow to hear, "However, I would like to cause some trouble with you, baby."
The man sighed loudly, "Eww! Why must you two do that when I can hear?!" Siobhan laughs, "Because you react like that! It's funny!"
The lawyer continues out the door. "Lawyers don't get hazard pay for this— especially not for the PDA tax" He pulled it shut quickly.
Siobhan looks up at Vivian, "We really should give him a break, Viv. Poor guy..." Vivian grumbles before smiling and agreeing, "Fine, but I didn't just say that to embarrass him." She kisses Siobhan softly, "Let's get ourselves into a little trouble."
After a few hours, the two women leave to collect Jamie and Ciara. They had his baseball uniform with them. Jamie had to be at the field only 30 minutes after picking him up.
As they enter the nursery, Marjorie walks up to them clearly doing her best not to bombard with questions. "Hey, my loves. Good to see you released, Siobhan." Vivian snorts quietly and earns a slight nudge from Siobhan's elbow.
The blonde forces a smile and crosses her arms, "Thanks, Marjorie. You're very... thoughtful."
Vivian smirks, "Come on, my little convict..." Siobhan snaps her head to look at Vivian. The brunette purses her lips, "What? Too soon?" Siobhan scoffs, "a little..."
They enter the pre-school room and as Charlotte spots them her eyes light up. "So good to see you both. Jamie, Ciara, your mums are here!"
Jamie ran to Siobhan hugging her tightly, "I thought those people were taking you away." She closed her eyes and clenched her jaw, "Of course not Jamie. It was just a joke— a bad one. I'm okay." Ciara chimed in, "They looked like the people that took me away from my mum. It scared me."
Siobhan bent down looking the sweet girl in the eyes, "I'm sorry you were scared, but I'm here. I'm not going anywhere." She pulled Jamie and Ciara into a hug and whispered, "We have to get ready for Jamie's baseball game." The two jumped with excitement.
Vivian watched in awe. The way Siobhan eased the tension and shifted focus to the game. It was like she was always meant to be a mum. As Siobhan stood up, Vivian placed her hand on her back. The two made eye contact. "I love you, Bon."
They arrived at the baseball field. Siobhan took Jamie to the bathroom to get changed into his uniform. Vivian walked with Ciara to the assigned field for Jamie's game to set up their chairs. They hated sitting on the bleachers with the other parents.
Siobhan and Jamie walked over towards the field scanning for Vivian and Ciara. As the two women's eyes met they both smiled. When Siobhan got to Vivian, she kissed her on the cheek and sat down in her chair as Ciara jumped into her lap.
The two giggled at the sweet innocence and how Ciara had bonded with Siobhan. Jamie stood at the fence watching the end of the game that started before his.
Ten minutes later, Jamie's coach called him and his teammates over to stretch before his game started. As Vivian and Siobhan watched Jamie take off towards his coach, they saw a familiar woman walking from the car park.
"Viv, Sara is here. Did you give her a game schedule?" Siobhan said with a smile. Vivian continued to watch Sara walk towards them as she answered, "Yeah, I did. She was really excited that he was getting to play ball this year."
Siobhan had turned back to watch the last few minutes of the game with Ciara as she heard a shocked tone from Vivian, "Um... Bon. Sara brought a friend..."
Siobhan turned, and her stomach dropped. Sara was beaming, walking hand in hand with a noirette, silver-streaked woman. Janice.
