While Siobhan is still tucked into Vivian's arms, Vivian whispers, "You need to go talk to Marjorie." Siobhan takes a deep breath and pulls back making eye contact with Vivian. "I'm scared of what she thinks and the questions she will ask." Vivian gazes intently into Siobhan's worried eyes and asks, "What are you going to tell her, Bon Bon?" Siobhan breaks eye contact with Vivian as she looks down at the floor, fidgeting with her hands. "I need to explain to her that I got hurt, especially since she saw my shirt lifted and noticed you were touching me. I should also mention the hospital visit, as that's how you realized I was injured. Marjorie will likely have more questions, but these details should be enough to satisfy her without pushing further."
Siobhan slowly looks back up at Vivian and asks if she would go with her to talk with Marjorie. Vivian grasps Siobhan's shaky hands, softly rubbing them with her thumbs and says, "Absolutely, I will. Thank you for trusting me." Both women take a deep breath and begin heading to the office.
I'm so proud of Siobhan for asking that I come support her while she talks to Marjorie. It's a small step in the direction to asking for the help she really needs. I really hope Marjorie doesn't push too much and cause Siobhan to shutdown.
Truly I just want to run away and avoid this all together, but Vivian is right I need to speak to Marjorie. I'm just scared that I will slip up and say something I shouldn't if Marjorie asks too many questions. I can't tell them what I'm really going through, it could put them in danger too.
Siobhan and Vivian both walk into the office and see Marjorie seated at her desk typing away on her computer. Siobhan quietly calls Marjorie's name as they walk closer to her desk. Marjorie turns to face the two women with a deeply concerned look on her face. Marjorie wants to ask questions, but she can feel the tension in the room and waits for one of them to speak.
Siobhan begins to explain, "I had an accident Friday at home and Roger had to call an ambulance to come get me. They determined that I needed to go to the hospital to have some tests. Vivian was working in the emergency room that night and was one of the nurses taking care of me. Today when she asked me to meet with her about Jamie, she checked up on my injuries as well to make sure my healing was progressing."
Marjorie gasps and covers her mouth, "Oh Siobhan! I'm sorry you went through that. I saw your bruise it looks so painful! What happened?" Siobhan looks at Vivian for comfort and Vivian softly smiles at her and nods her head slightly. "I was walking up the stairs to get ready for bed and when I got to the top I lost my footing and fell down the stairs." Marjorie begins to shake her head side to side slowly, hands still covering her mouth. Her eyes began to tear up as she spoke quietly, "I'm so glad you are okay! You could have been hurt even worse than you are. Could I give you a hug Siobhan?" Siobhan gives Marjorie a confused look, but allows Marjorie to hug her.
Does Marjorie actually care about my wellbeing? Roger says there is no way anyone could ever care about me, but I think Vivian does and maybe Marjorie too.
As I turn to face Siobhan and Vivian, I can't help but picture what I witnessed in the family room. The bruise Siobhan's has looks really serious and I'm concerned for her. I'm shocked to hear that she was injured at home and had to take an ambulance to the hospital. I'm glad that Vivian was there to take care of Siobhan. Vivian is very kind, caring and I bet she is great at her job.
These two seem to have a connection and that is great Siobhan doesn't really have any friends. Come to think of it, all Siobhan really has is Roger and I know from talking to his children, Reece and Autumn what kind of man he is. I certainly hope this isn't his doing... I know Siobhan says that it was an accident and she lost her footing, but what if that isn't the truth? I really need to pay more attention to Siobhan; she could be going through something awful. I mean, Reece wouldn't even let Autumn be alone in the house with Roger when they were teenagers.
As Marjorie releases her arms from Siobhan, Vivian pipes up , "Right, well I'm glad someone here knows about Siobhan's injuries so she can be looked after. I'm due to be at work soon so I'll be back later to collect Jamie." Marjorie and Siobhan both say bye to Vivian as they turn their attention back to their work.
Thankfully someone at the nursery knows about Siobhan's condition. I know Marjorie will keep an eye on her to make sure she is feeling well. I could tell that Marjorie was wanting to ask some questions and definitely had further concerns, but I'm so glad she didn't push. I think this was a tiny step towards Siobhan letting her guard down and may lead to her one day seeking help to get away from Roger.
