You smiled at Brendon and he glanced over at you. Everything tinted a yellow with pink. Happiness and love. Sometimes you wondered what your moods looked like to Brendon, but you didn't really ask because it seemed intrusive. Even though it was your feelings, asking to see someone else colors was weird.

"I'll just be a few minutes," he said, pushing back his chair. He had been talking before, but you weren't paying attention. You nodded and let him drop a kiss on your forehead before walking off. The colors faded out of pink and then out of yellow to a neutral clearish brown. Curious. You ignored the colors and sipped at the coffee on the table in front of you. The diner had been around since you could remember and you and Brendon went every morning you could together. It was still relatively early for a Saturday morning and the streets were quiet. You didn't worry about Brendon usually, he was a big boy. Either way you could see his moods in your eyes and you knew if he waist trouble, you'd be able to tell. The colors rapidly changed to red and blue. The colors made your head hurt, but you scrambled to find your phone. Something was wrong. Anger and sadness. You called Brendon and the colors changed to yellow and blue.

"Hello?"

"You okay? The colors..."

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'll be back in a few minutes, just had to talk to someone about come stuff," he said.

"You could be more vague," you joked. He laughed quietly and then the colors changed to purple. Confusion.

"Alright, I love you." You frowned slightly.

"Love you too." You took another few sips of your coffee, looking at the people in the diner. A little girl with an old couple and a teenage boy sitting alone at the counter. The colors changed again, green and blue. Envy and sadness.

"You okay, miss?" the waiter asked, walking over. You looked up and nodded. He looked skeptical and walked away. You finished your coffee, but waited for Brendon to get back. The colors changed back to purple and blue and stayed like that. The door to the diner opened and Brendon sat back down across from you. The colors stayed the same.

"You okay?" you asked.

"(Y/N), I need you to be honest with me," he started. The colors changed to teal and purple. Hurt and confused. You nodded and he reached across the table for you hands. You took his in yours and tried to smile, but his colors contradicted everything you were thinking.

"I only see blue." You stared at him for a long minute and then blinked a few times, your eyes flickering between Brendon and the table.

"Please tell me that it's not me," he started, but you quickly shushed him.

"Nothing's wrong with you... you're perfect, I swear," you whispered, "and I love you, but I..." You couldn't seem to get the words out of your mouth, but the colors started turning yellow again.

"Say that again."

"What?"

"I love you."

"I love you?" The colors were yellow, all yellow, bright yellow.

"What?"

"Just a little bit of pink," Brendon said, "That's all, just a little bit of pink. I love you." You rolled your eyes.

"You doubt yourself."
