"Darling!" Someone called from the door. You'd had a long day an were almost 100% sure that you were imagining this voice. The only two people who called you 'darling' were Asa and he wasn't due home till New Years Eve. The other person was your best friend. He and his boyfriend had just adopted a six year old last month and just assumed he wouldn't be visiting for a while.

You spun around and saw Joey smiling at you.

"(Y/N), happy Christmas!" he exclaimed, twirling you in a circle.

"Joey!" you laughed, kissing him on the cheek. Once he set you back down on the carpet of your living room you turned around to give his boyfriend, James, a hug and a kiss and then looked around.

"Wait, where's—" You began to ask, then you heard a little sneeze from behind James. You then realized you'd never asked what her name was before that day.

"Lily, come here and meet Auntie (Y/N)!" A little blonde girl with green eyes and freckles everywhere shuffled out from behind her papa and looked up at me.

"Hi," she whispered shyly, instantly turning her head to bury it in her papa's jeans. James laughed and pulled her up his tall frame in his arms.

"Well isn't she adorable!" you smiled, "I'm so happy for you two!" Lily whispered something into James' ear and James laughed.

"She wants to help you put the tree up," the ginger laughed, setting his daughter down. You gave her a tube of plastic ornaments and she ran over to the tree as the phone rang.

"One second, it's probably Asa. Joey feel free to make some tea or coffee!" You ran up the stairs and grabbed the phone, picking up giddily.

"Hello?"

"How's my darling doing?" a happy voice asked from the phone.

"Perfectly amazing," You smiled, sitting down on your bed.

"Did you get my three person gift?" he asked quietly.

"I did indeed. Although a one person gift of you would have sufficed."

"I know, love. I'm sorry, I suck." You smiled and put your head on his pillow, which started to smell less and less like him.

"You don't suck, you're just very very busy and I miss you lots, but I really have to go. You know how much I trust Joey," you laughed. You tried to keep the conversation light. You didn't want him to know how badly you missed him, because if he did he would skip the entire movie to be with you and you couldn't let that happen.

"Yeah, I know," Asa answered, something thing that sound like a crash coming from his end of the phone as well as from the bottom of the stairs.

"Shit, I think they broke something. I love you!" You tossed the phone onto the bed and flew down the stairs. Joey was looking down at a broken candle stand with a very concerned look on his face. James was laughing while attempting to pick Lily up, so she wouldn't get hurt and Lily was continuously pointing to the side door and whispering to her papa. Joey looked up when you hopped off the last step and his eyes went wide.

"Um... I uh just um..." he stuttered.

"I'm sure Lily didn't mean it," You smiled, "you though.... Not sure." Either way you say down to pick up the pieces and put them to the side.

"It's fallen apart lots of times. Asa can put it together when he gets back," you explained, putting the pieces on the mantle.

"Or I could fix it now," Joey said. You looked at him with concern.

"Um, no that's fine..."

The rest of the night was fun. You and Joey made Mac and cheese for dinner while James and Lily made brownies for dessert, which was really eaten before dinner... and before they were baked. Overall it was the best night you'd had since Asa left.

The next morning you were woken up by Joey yelling.

"JAMEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!" At first you panicked and ran down the stairs pulling on your sweatshirt over a tank top, but then you saw the adorable scene that had unraveled at the bottom of the stairs. The most adorable little cat was sitting on the front mat, it's ears perched up.

"Lily, Lily do you like him?" She nodded and hugged the kitten, it being almost as big as her tiny body made you laugh. All of them turned to me, three pairs of green eyes and a pair of blue ones.

"We have presents for you too!" James exclaimed dragging you to the tree.

"You didn't have to! I didn't get you anything! Send them all back! I don't want them!"

"Well that's disappointing, shall I get a plane back to Ireland?" You spun on your heel and pounced on your boyfriend.

"ASA!"

"I thought you didn't want me," he laughed, kissing you on the cheek.

"No!"

"Then you've gotta keep them all, there's only two."

"Two?" you asked, standing up and adjusting yourself. Asa put up a smile and got down on one knee.

"Would you do the kind duty if becoming my wife, gorgeous?" You smiled and pulled him off his knee.

"When's the wedding gonna be?" you asked, kissing him deeply.

"Eweeeeeeeeeee!" Joey yelled, pulling you to him.

"Mine!" he exclaimed. Asa smiled and waved at Lily.

"You must be these two men's lovely daughter." she nodded and waved back.

"How about some breakfast?" James asked.

I AM SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SORRY! I finally got my own laptop and I needed to work out all my finals stuff before I could get it so I've been off for a while! I'm so sorry! I have a lot of prompts coming in for me to write so I'm temporarily closing prompts till I've finished the ones i have! thank you you for understanding
