Agent AU

"Brendon, dammit!" you hissed, swerving to avoid hitting your partner. He got in the car before the bullets started and then sped off. City streets were not meant for driving from a crazed psycho killer.

"I have agent Urie. Requesting backup."

"A team is being sent to your area. Keep them on your tail," the dispatch said. You could hear the quick typing of the agent trying to figure out what else they could do instead of getting you killed.

"No need. I put a tracked on their car," Brendon said, kicking the glove compartment. It opened and he clicked the blue button in the back.

"You're good to go," your supervising officer said. You nodded at Brendon and he clicked the green button that turned on next to him. You followed the suddenly you were underground. A steel bubble erupted around you and Brendon pulled you down to your knees as the hole above you was filled and the steel half collapsed.

"You really need to get that fixed," you said.

"Yes, I'm aware, Agent (Y/L/N)," Agent Way said, "Wait one second the extract team will be there in a second."

"You mean us?" Brendon asked, grabbing the drill from the floor and making a hole on the dot next to your arm. It opened into a door and the tunnel opened.

"Let's go," you said, grabbing your bag and sprinting with your head low. Brendon chased after you, hitting buttons that collapsed each part after locking it off from the one you were in. Soon enough you were met by other agents in a main tunnel and taken above ground.

"Debriefing," Brendon sighed. You laughed and clapped him on the back before walking into rooms across the hall from each other.

You both came back out into the hall with sarcastic smiles on your faces and walked out together.

"Agent Urie?" you asked. He handed you sunglasses and you put them on as the glass doors opened in front of you.

"You guys are so over dramatic," Agent Sykes commented, leaning into the back of his convertible to open the door. You and your partner slid into the back seat and the car started moving.

"So, where we going?" you asked, leaning back in the seat.

"Does it matter?" Ollie asked, turning onto Hollywood Boulevard. You shrugged and shrugged off your black leather jacket to reveal a plain blue tank top, which you covered back up with a blue button up. You had perfected changing in the car without being noticed and when Ollie parked you stepped out of the car dressed completely differently. Ollie had already been in his desk outfit and Brendon had just unzipped his jacket to a t-shirt. The plates on the BMW M4 had been blocked by the agency you worked for, so when if anyone questioned why it was parked where it was, they would have an agency to deal with.

"Lunch?" Brendon asked.

"Yes, Agent Urie." His use of Brendon's agent name tipped them off that they were on a special operation. You followed, you arm looped with Brendon's. He talked quietly about the people walking by, like he was just another passerby. Ollie pretended to pick up the phone and laugh a hello.

"Yup, see you at Joe's Pizza." You and Brendon made a few detours into stores, 'deciding' not to buy anything before 'arguing' about where to go for lunch. If anyone had noticed the two of you walk into the pizza place and take a table next to Ollie, then they didn't do anything. There was a quiet lull in conversations and then a complete stop as a tall man in a dark suit walked in. He seemed to stop everything as everyone looked at him before turning back to their food. The man took a seat across from Agent Sykes and the conversation started.

Everything went smooth and after the man left Ollie paid and left. You loitered for a few minutes before leaving. Your friend was parked outside, waiting for the two of you to get out of the restaurant.

"Did you get it?" Brendon asked.

"I do what you tell me, boss," Ollie said, tossing a box to your boyfriend.

"Huh? You knew?" you asked, surprised. Ever mission Brendon had ever been on you had too. That's how you two had gotten together.

"This is our seventh mission together," you groaned, pressing the button in the elevator. It took you up three floors while Brendon talked.

"So, (Y/N) what do-"

"We're on a mission, Agent Urie," you hissed, walking down the hall. After finding your room and opening the door you were about ready to scream.

"I am NOT sleeping in the same bed as you."

"Seems like you don't have a choice, cupcake." You rolled your eyes at him. As much as you had hated him in that moment the last missions had made you friends and you didn't actually want to blow his head off, just figuratively.

When you two woke up in the morning you were huddled together in the middle of the bed. One thing had led to another and let's just say you two never made your second contact until three minutes later than they were supposed too.

"Nothing important," Brendon said, crouching down to tie his shoe. You were about to get into the car when he started talking.

"I bet you didn't know it, but that was your dad. I know you didn't know him all that well as a kid, but he gave me this," Brendon said. You turned around and saw him kneeling on the ground with an engagement ring in his hands.

"I thought maybe you'd like to get to know me better?" he smirked. And what else could you do?
