Rileys POV:

We hop into the cab and the driver asks, "Where to kids?" "LAX." We answer. "Okay LAX here we come!" I'm so excited. I've missed my parents and my little brother, Auggie so much. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE LA and there's no one else I'd rather live here with. It's kinda crazy how we all moved here at only 16 and 15 years old all by ourselves. I love the responsibility but it was a scary change at first.
Maya scoots a bit closer to me and lays her head on my shoulder. I can't help but smile and rub her head. She feels a bit warm. I'm sure it's nothing, she'll be fine. I hear her heavy, peaceful breathing and know she's asleep already. I look over at the guys who are talking about how excited they are. Lucas says to me in a low voice being sure not to wake Maya, "I know I said it this morning already, but Happy Birthday Riley." I feel butterflies in my stomach. I really do like Lucas a lot. I love what we have going on. It's special. I reply to him with a big grin, "Thank you Lucas. I like your hair. This may sound weird, but I really like when you do that with it." He giggles in response. My face turns read from embarrassment. Why did I say that? I'm so awkward. He says back to me, "I kinda picked that up already so I did it for you."
"How did you know? I never told you before." I say back.
"Well actually you did. Every time I style my hair like this you tell me." He laughs again. I laugh back and say, "oh" I turn my head out the window and watch the palm trees as we drive by. For about 15 minutes I'm totally zoned out just staring out the window. I zone back to reality when Maya stirs awake with a sneeze and a sniffle. I sure hope she's not getting sick. "Hey sleepyhead." I say to her. She smiles back and closes her eyes again and falls right back alseep. She must be really tired from planning this whole trip. She's such a great friend. I would never expect this much from her. I'm so lucky.

Uh oh. Is Maya getting sick? Or is it just nothing? I know I said this before but I really am loving this story already I can't wait to have it finished
