One Hundred (FINALE)

Riley's POV:

I turn to the nurse with tears forming in my eyes. She says to me, "It's okay. We assure you her memory will regain after she gets good rest."
Josh eases up to her and says, "Babe. Do you remember me?"
She smiles and says, "No, but damn I wish I did." He breathes out laughing.
I ask, "What do you remember Maya?" She says, "Uhhmmm. Nothing really. Why can't I remember things? What happened.." I can tell she was worried. I say, "You'll remember soon. It'll be best if you remember yourself and not us tell you." She sighs and says, "Well how do I do that I don't eve-" Josh shushes her and gently lays her back down and her eyes close and falls right asleep. I laugh and say, "Well that worked."
Katy says, "That was uh." I continue her sentence, "Scary?!" She nods. Shannon says, "It's okay everyone. It'll take her a few hours but she'll be okay when she wakes. She just won't remember being in a coma though, and she might remember something that never happened. But you can just inform her and she'll understand. Just ease her to it, it'll be a shock if you rush it." We nod and thank her and she walks out. I sit in the chair and curl up into a ball. I yawn and feel more at ease knowing Maya's awake now. My blinks get longer and longer as I fall asleep.

An hour later I wake up but keep my eyes closed to a raspy, groggy voice, "Riley?" I shoot up and see Maya turning her head and her bright blue eyes flutter open. She holds her head and groans, "Holy shit ow!" I grin big and give her a tight hug saying, "MAYA! Oh my God I'm so happy you're awake and actually remember me this time. I love you so much I missed you!" She pulls away and says, "What's going on what happened? What do you mean remember you?" I take a deep breath and explain what happened last week and just before. She says, "Oh.. You must've been a mess knowing you." I say, "I've never cried so much before. The thought of you in a coma.. it was the scariest thing I've ever experienced in my life. I just.. Yeah it wasn't fun." She stays silent and looks around at all the machines shes hooked up to and I change the subject, "I'll get the nurse to help you."
She says, "Thanks." I open the door and get the nurse at the desk to tell the doctor if he didn't know already.
I go back into the room and say, "I wonder where everyone went." She teases, "If only there was such thing that you can just get out and type a few things.." I laugh, "Shut up." I call my mom

On the phone

Mom: hello?
Riley: hey
Mom: oh you're awake
Riley: yep and I'm not the only one
Mom: MAYAS AWAKE TOO?

Maya must've heard her scream through the phone so she says, "How ya doin?"

Mom: oh my God okay we're coming!Riley: but where we-

End of phone call

Maya says, "So where were they?" I sigh, "She hung up on me!" She laughs and says, "Okay so wait. I was hit in the head with a bat, went into a coma for a week, and you stayed here the whole time, and I woke up before but didn't remember anyone?" I nod, "Yeah that's it in a nutshell." She rubs her face with her palms and says, "Wow. Well thanks riles for staying with me the whole time, even though I didn't know." I say, "Of course. I'd never leave your side especially in that situation. That was just. Crazy. Oh and I went into your Twitter and you were the top three world wide trendings! I don't know how because I didn't see any pictures so the word got out some how." She says excitedly, "What? Really? When?!" I giggle, "Awe look at you all excited." She smiles for the first time in a while. I say, "Do you feel 'normal' again now that that's over?" She scratches her head, "Yeah I think so." I sit on the edge of the bed and lean my head on her shoulder. She goes to lean her head on mine but pulls back quickly, "Ow." I pout, "Yeah and you got a pretty nice bruise on your head." She says sarcastically, "Really? I didn't notice from the piercing pain!" I laugh and push her over. I say, "Ya know what you haven't done in a while?" She says, "What?" I say, "Play gu-" I'm cut off with the door swinging open. Everyone pushes me to the wall and runs to Maya. I push the hair out of my face and say, "ANIMALS!" Katy cups Maya's 'smiling like an idiot' face and kisses her forehead and says, "I missed you babygirl oh I'm so happy you're okay." She says, "It's okay mom it was only a we- JOSH!" He laughs and says, "Hey princess." And pulls her into a hug. She looks over his shoulder and says shockingly, "Ross?! Justin!?"
Then everyone continues to share hugs and so on.
Maya says, "So Riley, What were you saying before?" I say, "Oh right. Well I was just saying that you haven't played a song in a while." She gasps, "We never recorded those songs! I think I forgot how they even went." I hum the tune of Take On The World and she quietly sings along to it and says, "Nah just kidding I remember." I say, "It's been stuck in my head all this time." Maya says, "What can I say. It's catchy!" The doctor comes in and checks her temperature, heart beat, and blood pressure. he says, "Well I'm very glad to say that you're doing well Miss Hart. We can have you discharged in a few days if everything continues to stay this way." and walks out with a smile. She fakes a smile then rolls her eyes when he walks out. I laugh, "What was that for?" She complains, "A few days? I want out of here." Shawn says, "Yeah well you WERE in a coma for a week." She says, "Riles you should go home and get some rest." I say, "No way! I'll sleep when you do. I'm staying." She sighs and I stick my tongue out at her.

Skip ahead 4 days

Today Maya can finally be discharged. 3 days ago Randy started to stay at the hospital at the door as a guard for Maya. Several fans came by with gifts and letters and flowers. I don't know how they got in, but it was really sweet.
As Katy is signing the discharge papers, Maya gets changed into the clothes she brought her.
She grabs all the gifts she can carry and I get the rest. She says, "It feels so weird to walk." I joke, "Maybe because you've been stiff for a week."
Walking down to the car with Farkle, Lucas, Katy, and Randy, of course paparazzi snap pictures and fans run down the street.
My parents and Josh had work today so Maya and I have my apartment with the guys to ourselves.
How do we spend it?
Well.....
Maya passes out on the chair immediately.
Lucas slips her phone out of her hands and puts it on the table.

It's now 2:30pm so Josh should be here any minute.
I snuggle up to Lucas' shoulder as he flips through the channels. I look over at Farkle playing with Maya's hair, which makes me laugh.

This has been a crazy year so far. A lot has happened, we moved to LA, I learned Maya has a musical talent then got famous, Lucas and I became an official happy couple, Josh and Maya couldn't be any happier, we're good friends with a lot of celebrities, Maya's taken a bullet for me, parties, we're back in school again, and so much more. It's been stressful at times, but I wouldn't change this experience for the world.

Bittersweet this book is over :(: but hey I might be making a brad Simpson fan fic coming soon and probably a sequel to this book so stick around for those ;)
