Twenty One

Maya's POV:

Of course! The party. How could I forget? I'm still surprised that Riley never found out and that I never told her. Well, I don't have a guilty conscience anyways so I guess I never cared enough to tell. I get up and grab my phone to walk outside when Riley stops me, "Maya where are you going?" I reply, "Oh right I forgot to tell you, Justin texted me that we need to talk about... Stuff. I'll let you know how it goes in a bit." And walk out. I have a bad feeling that since last night Riley and I won't ever be the same anymore. I hope it's not true.
I continue down the street and see Justin sitting on the park bench fiddling with his fingers. I sit next to him and say, "Hey." He says, "So hey. uh. About last night. I know that you know what happened." And I replied to him, "Yeah and I don't even know what to say to that.." Justin said to me, "Listen Maya I'm really sorry. You may not remember it all but I was the one who brought us to the room. If I was sober I wouldn't have done that. I never should've picked up the first drink. When you walked in I recognized you from the party about 2 months back and I missed you a lot. I gave you a bit of time till I came up to you and I could tell you didn't recognize me or think of me the same way I think about you-" I cut him off and said, "I know. You don't have to apologize we're both at fault but actually you did seem a little familiar to me. And what do you mean? What way do you think about me?" He continued on in a soft voice, "Maya, I like you." I stood there at a loss for words. I found some to say and said, "Justin you don't really know me. How could you possibly like me?" He replied to me, "I know you don't like me back. I can tell. But I'm willing to wait for you if you give me a chance. I know I don't know you very well, but you're honestly the most beautiful girl and you're funny and super nice. I'd love it if you gave me one chance." Again I look at him with a loss for words. I say back to him, "Justin you're a really nice guy and I would love to give you a chance for us, but.. I love someone else. I'm sorry." As I say that I run away. I run back for the apartment as fast as I can. That situation reminded me of what me and Josh used to be like except for the rolls changed. I can't date Justin, I barely even know him. Besides, I love Josh.... And I always will.
I barged in the door and sat down and let out a groan. "Someone's not happy." Says Mr. Matthews. I give him a dirty look and say, "Yep. that would be me."
He sits down next to me and says, "Tell me what's wrong Maya." I get up and say, "Nah you wouldn't care." And I head for Riley's room. I know that was rude of me because he's letting me live here, but I'm not in the mood to talk to anyone but Riley. I pour everything out on Riley. I barge the door open and before I can say anything I see Riley on top of Lucas. Great. more drama.

Riley's POV:

Maya just left to talk to Justin. I'm a bit worried for her, I don't want Justin to say anything to hurt her.
Lucas comes over to me and says, "Hey can we go talk in private? I need to tell you something." Okay now I'm extra worried. What does Lucas have to say?
We walk into my room and he sits me down at the bay window. He says, "This window really seems to help you and Maya's problems so maybe it will work for us too."  I say, "Okay what do you have to say?" He replies to me, "Riley, I love you." I couldn't believe what I just heard. I didn't know he felt that deeply. "Lucas, I love you too." Lucas grabbed my face and pulled me into a kiss. He pushed his lips harder onto mine and stroked the back of my hair. I kissed him even harder back as I caressed his cheek. He pushed us into the bed and he starts to moan through my lips. Suddenly I hear the door swing open and see Maya standing in the doorway.

There's a lot going on in this chapter. Justin loves Maya but Maya ditches him and walks in on Riley making out with Lucas. And Lucas and Riley are in love! Read the next chapter to find out what happens next
