Fifty Four

I'm just gonna call this chapter 54 because my last note can be considered 53.

Maya's POV:

I wake up and check my phone:
9:49am
1 new message (Josh)

Josh: hey Maya. Today's the big day. I hope you slept well and are refreshed and ready. You're gonna do great babe! Call me after I wanna hear all about it! Love you baby xxx

I text him back:
Maya: Goodmorning handsome. I slept pretty well I'm really stoked for today. Live sound check with the VIP's is at 12 so I better start getting ready. And thank you for all your support and luck. I'll be on the phone with you all night telling you everything! Love you more

I pull my curtain open and jump down from my top bed. I see that everyone's curtains are still closed. I go right to Lucas'. I open it and scream with a Texas accent in his face, "HA HUUUURRRRRR! Wake up cowboy! It's time for a rodeo!" He shoots up quickly and bumps his head on the top of the bunk and groans sarcastically, "Ow. Jeesh. Couldn't have had a better awakening. Thanks." I laugh and crouch down to Riley's bed. I kinda don't want to wake her she's so innocent. Buuuuut nah screw that I'm waking her up. I quickly pull her curtain open and see her bed empty. Oh I guess she's already awake. That was easy. Now for Freakle. I open his curtain and my mouth immediately drops. I see Riley and Farkle asleep in a cuddling position. I hold back my laughs best I can and pull out my phone immediately. I take a picture and tweet it:
"I guess Riley needed a cuddle buddy.
Can't wait to see you all out today! We're gonna have a good time! xx"
Hmm. Now how do I wake them up? Do I scare them? Or do I wake them up peacefully. Eh who am I kidding, I'm gonna scare them. But how? I say to Lucas, "Hey Huckleberry. Come look at this." He crouches down and tries
not to laugh and jokes, "Farkle's stealing my woman!" I quietly laugh best I can and say, "So how do we do this? Scream or act like somethings wrong?" He says, "Just yell really loud." I nod my head and yell, "WAAAAAKE UUUUUUUP!" Riley and Farkle scream awake. Lucas and I start hysterically laughing on the floor. Riley pouts and says, "Hey that wasn't funny." I continue to laugh and say, "What are you doing in there??" Her cheeks get red. Awh she's getting embarrassed. I get a handle of myself and stop laughing. Lucas is still laughing so I punch him in the side which stops him immediately. She says innocently, "I dunno. I couldn't sleep so I called your name, but you didn't answer. I felt bad to wake you, so I called Farkle's and he was awake too. And then we both just kinda fell asleep together." I can see jealousy in Lucas' eyes. He says sadly, "Why didn't you call my name? I would've cuddled with you.." Riley says, "Well I heard you and Maya were both asleep so I didn't want to bother you." He nods his head slowly and says, "It's okay you can just wake me next time." She says, "Okay. Thanks."
I try to change the subject and say enthusiastically, "Well who's ready for today?" Everyone cheers. I say, "I gotta get ready. I have sound check in a little while. You guys obviously can just chill backstage whenever."
I grab my clothes for today which is a long sleeve, high necked, short, white dress and some black high heeled boots. I do my makeup which is some black, winged eyeliner, mascara, and brown eyeshadow. (Her outfit is the picture at the top). Before I walk off the bus, I look back at Riley who's grinning at me. She says, "Go get em. I'll be backstage the whole time." I smile and we all walk off the bus together. I'm greeted by atleast a hundred screaming fans behind the gate. The more screaming I hear, the more people rush up to see me. My security guard says, "Don't go to them just keep walking." I blow a kiss to them and smile and head back stage. Wow. That was crazy. That many people screaming for me. I bite my bottom lip and smile at Riley. She can barely contain her excitement. She's gonna start to bounce off the walls any second. My security guard comes back to me and says, "Alright well first off, I'm Randy I'm your new security guard. A couple things you need to know, No matter what. If we are walking in public or back and forth to the bus, DO NOT go to the fans unless I say you can. They can rip you to shreds. Next thing, I highly doubt you will, but no crowd surfing. I'm not doing this to prevent you meeting your fans, I'm doing this for your safety. In public 99.9% of the time I'll let you say hi and take pictures. Going to and from the bus or the stage is where you most likely can't. We're on a timed schedule and one picture after another will take too long. But all in all, I'm happy to be working with you." That sucks. I want to go talk to my fans as much as I can. But I know Randy just doesn't want me to get too caught up with it. I say, "Okay great thank you, Randy." Before he walks off he adds, "Oh and this is your band. Joe is the drummer, Dylan is the lead guitarist, Connor is your bassist, and Alex is your guitarist." I nod and thank him.
I start to talk to the band, getting to know them before Michelle comes to me. She says, "Hi maya! Ready for your first concert?" I excitedly say, "Yes very!" She says, "Great. Sound check is in a few. We're just gonna finish setting up on the stage and then you can get out there!" I smile and nod. I turn back to Riley and Lucas and Farkle. They all smile big at me and Riley says, "I'm really proud of you. I know you're gonna do great." Farkle says, "Me too I'm really happy for you." Lucas says, "You're gonna kill it out there." I thank them and check my phone:
11:55am
3 new messages (Shawn) (Mom) (Ross)

Shawn: well today's the big day. I'm very happy for you. Do great out there! I can't wait to see you and hear everything! Love you
Mom: babygirl today's your day. I miss you tons already and I can't wait to hear all about how much fun you had. You always had so much potential you always made me proud. I love you have a good first concert. Call me when you can.
Ross: well well well. Now you're officially a performer today. Welcome to the family. Haha but seriously I wish you tons of luck today and I miss you already, my princess. Have a good show. We all will be cheering you on from home. xxx

Did Shawn say...."Love you"? Wow. I didn't realize how close we are. He's the best father figure I could have. As a kid I never cared what he was to me. I just wanted him to be there when I needed to talk, and he was. I try to take my mind off it so I don't get emotional.
Riley looked over at my phone and gave me a warming smile. She hugged me tight and says, "You better go, don't wanna leave them waiting." I hug her back and say, "Yeah you're right. I'll see you guys after the show!" They all say, "Good luck!"
I walk out behind the curtain and immediately blown away by thousands of excited and enthusiastic cheers and screams.
