Thirty One

Maya's POV:

The nurse came back in and gave me my prescription medicine I had to take for the achey pain. Around 8:30 I decide to wake Riley back up and say, "Wake up pumpkin we can go home in a few minutes." She turns her head but keeps her eyes closed and whines, "I can't keep my eyes open they feel heavy." I giggle and say, "You can sleep when we get home." She asks, "What time is it anyway?" I tell her, "8:30." She groans and rubs her eyes stretches her arms out. My mom came in on her break because she had to sign and confirm my discharge papers. She kisses the top of my head and says, "I'll see you later kiddo." And walks out. The doctors come in and say, "Okay Maya you're allowed to go home if you're ready." I get up quickly and say, "Yes I'm good." I grab the bouquet and follow the nurse to the front doors. I'm glad they let me change last night so I don't have to be wearing that stupid robe. The 4 of us all walk back to Josh's car who drives us to Riley's apartment. We buzz in the apartment and Mrs. Matthews let's us in. We all flop right on the couch as Riley says, "Sleepy time. We all need it." I put up the giant footrest from the couch so we can all lay down. Farkle is on the end, then Lucas is next to him with his arm around Riley who's head is on mine, then Josh is on the other end with his arm around my waist. Mrs. Matthews was saying something to us, but I couldn't concentrate because I was quite achey and started to feel tired. Within a few minutes I fell asleep feeling a lot better and very comfortable.

Riley's POV:

I woke up a few hours later with the feeling of a blanket being put over me and hear lots of talking from like 6 different people. I still feel exhausted. I don't know how Maya can stay up that late on a daily basis. I look next to me and see Maya fast asleep with her mouth open and hear her heavy breathing. I look in front of me and see people staring at us like we're an exhibit in the museum. I give a confused face and raise an eyebrow. My mom and dad, Shawn, Katy, Farkles parents, and my grandparents are all there and keep "awe"ing and snapping pictures. I ask in confusion, "Am I missing something or did we all turn into cute animals in a zoo? What's going on?" I scoot further down and rest my head on Maya's stomach and keep my eyes on the adults staring at us. Shawn says, "I'm just confused as you are kid." My grandma says, "You all are just so cute!" I give her a weird look and pull the warm fleece blanket over my face, which puts me to sleep in an instant.
I woke back up to Lucas shaking me awake. I groan and whine loudly and say, "Why does no one want me to sleep?" He says, "Its dinner time we slept the whole day. Aren't you hungry?" I open my eyes and say, "Yes I'm starving." He rubs my back and says, "Then get up." I turn my back to him and keep my head on Maya. I say, "Get everyone else up first. I'm too comfy to move." I feel Maya's finger twitch under me as she breaths in deeply and rubs her face and stretches. She groans and pulls the blanket over her face and within minutes I hear her soft snoring again. I look over at Lucas and say, "Can't we eat later? We're gonna be up all night as it is." He sighs and says, "Fineeee go back to sleep." I say, "Sweeeeeeeeet. Actually I'm not even tired I'm just so comfy I don't wanna get up." He laughs and kisses me and says, "Okay then let's watch some tv." Lucas and I watched The Walking Dead. This show is so gross and gory, but he loves it. Every time I see blood I flinched. He put his arm around me and says, "It's okay sweetie it's just a show." Lucas makes me feel so safe and happy. Even if I don't see him and know he's there, I feel ecstatic. I might love him.

Yay Maya's home and everyone's safe! And a Rucas moment! Next chapters will be good I have an idea in mind ;)
